Well if it's coming from the front, it's not cv joints. I have a ticking noise coming from the front when i turn to the right. I was thinking a bearing also but I haven't been able to check it out. A bad bearing wouldn't explain the groove on your rotor. Keep us posted.
FIXED!
It turns out... that ......
a bolt that holds the caliper on... was missing on the passenger side of my car. I put a temporary bolt in there and went to the auto parts store and ordered it... for $20. The clinging i heard going over bumps was the caliper moving up and down and hitting the rotor... the WHIRR noise was the caliper moving down and resting on the rotating rotor. (this was the top bolt for the caliper, not the bottom)

Good thing you found it before something bad happened. You should be mad at whomever did your brakes. They need to tighten the caliper bolts a lot.
I did my own brakes like... 5 months ago. Weird that the bolt fell out after like 5 months. I made sure that they are all super tight now though.

Whoa that sucks man. One of the sliding pins for the caliper or one of the torque member (bracket) bolts? I woulda thought that your caliper would be flappin all over the place if that was the case.
