Anyone have experience with P1283

I had the oil changed on my car just after I bought it. Soon after my car through a P1283. Took it into my mechanic who diagnosed it as a bad o2 sensor and he replaced it. He reset the ECU as well. Right after I drove up to Orlando and the ECU once again started throwing the same code. I have done a bit of checking and I have seen multiple reasons for this. I got to thinking though, could this code be caused by a leak in the intake track at all? Since the shop that did the oil change also checked my air filter I was thinking maybe they could have missed something? Any thoughts?

the p1283 code means your running lean... its usually a sign of having the o2 sensor changed where the header is. At 72,000 miles you also wanna check your spark plugs as that could also be the problem causing you to run lean. you might notice your car lagging or mis-firing. have you noticed a change in your fuel econ?

When the service engine soon light is on I have. I had it cleared the other day when I had the code pulled and it has yet to come back on. My gas mileage seems normal enough right now. Good call on the plugs, I should pull one or two out and take a look at them. Then again, I may just replace them all just for the hell of it so that I know that they are brand new and in good working condition. I just find it odd that all this started after I had the oil changed.

its gotta be your spark plugs if you never changed them... or a faulty o2 sensor
