All depends on confidence in your ability... My preference is also to leave it up to the pros...based on my lack of confidence...that I won't have cracked paint and a wavy fender. Also, you loose some structural integrity by shaving the fender and you can easily pick it out in crowd. Otherwise, use a rolling pin instead of a bat

there's not really more to it, but like black_sedan says, you don't wanna mess up. once you mess up, you're kinda screwed. and with the fender rolling machine, you can get the inside almost flush. and there's no imperfections.
