I'm looking for a place in Tampa to get a Nissan IPOD interface Installed. I'm in the process of ordering the kit, but I have no idea where is the best place in town to have it installed. Any suggestions???

That's cool with me. My Kit should arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm available anytime so i guess we can get together whenever it is convenient for you. I'm glad you can help out because I really prefer the work to be done by someone familiar with our cars. I'm assuming your rate will be cheaper than a professional installer. Just to make sure we're on the same page, we are talking about the PAC-NIS2 or something along those lines that plugs into your headunit and allows you to play an mp3 player through RCA cables, correct?

 

I'm not 100% sure!!! It's the Nissan Factory iPod integration kit sold by Everything G35. It's my understanding it plugs in to the head unit and uses the slot for the sat radio. I was told the IPOD overrides the Satelite radio when the IPOD is engaged. There are plenty of post on this site that covers this topic and show DIY photos.

Oh. I just looked it up. I don't have any experience with that kit, but it looks like a lot more work than what is needed. I bought a PAC-NIS2, which was 1/3 the price and all I had to do was ge behind the headunit and plug in the adapter.

Yes this is true. My car came with it installed. It's a PITA to use as far as the functionality. Navigating through playlists and searching for songs is about worthless. But it does work. You set the radio to satellite. I'm not sure how it was installed, but the ipod cable is running out the back of the center console which seems to be a good spot, because it allows the ipod to sit in the arm rest compartment. I'm sure if you work at it, you can take the entire center console apart and run the cable that way.

 

If I had the choice, I would definitely go with what he said. I know you already bought it, but I'm telling you the controls are a joke. They don't make any sense. Read this article...

Thanks for educating me on my IPOD kit. Now I am depressed!!! I guess I will be taking this one in the shorts. I spent so much time reading threads about this particular kit and not once did I read a negative post with the issues you brought up. I guess you can never be too careful!!!
