The state statute says it has to be viewable from 1,000 ft. I was thinking about taking it to court with a video showing That you can see it at that distance

 

^ DO IT! and record a video, of you recording a video, and showing a recored video in court.

 

either overlays or gtr cutouts. paint gets you pulled over. thats just the way things are.

 

Even if you win in court then you will just end up getting pulled for it again...and again....and again. Then its only a matter of time before you get effed royally if you ever drive after having a drink or blazing a joint.

 

How dark was it before? You actually might be able to fight it if it wasn't too terribly dark and can still be clearly seen from 1000 feet.

 

I think paint with the cut out will be fine.
