Key - cut and program
Key - cut and program
I just got my G last month. Just as with most cars I've bought used, this one only came with one key and one remote. I ordered one of each online and I've already programmed the second remote, but I haven't done anything with the new key yet. I figure, before I run out and spend more than I have to, I'll check here for input.
For the record, I did search. In my search I found a thread where someone else asked the same question, but with that thread being a year old, I assumed there may be a different answer.
So, here I am asking...where would you recommend I get my new key cut and programmed? I live in Brevard county but I'm not opposed to making a trip to Orlando to get it done.
Thanks in advance.
Also, on a different topic, is this the best place to see what events and activities local G owners have going on? I want to meet up with some folks experienced with the G and maybe get some input on my car.
Thanks again.
Billy

home depot cut 2 blank keys for me..havent gotten them programmed yet but you can get them done by locksmiths like pop a lock...i think they have to reprogram the ignition to sync all the keys
We have meets in Orlando every-other Wednesday...The SFL guys meet up too but that may be a farther drive for you.
Yeah, SFL is a bit of a drive. I'd like to make it out to a meet in Orlando, but I'm currently taking a class that meets on Wednesday nights. I should be able to make it out in the not-too-distant future, though.
Class is from 8:00 to 9:15 at UCF. Then I have to go back on Thursday morning for a couple more classes.
Are the Orlando meets usually in the same location each time, or does the location change regularly? I'm not opposed to making my way over after class to hang out for a bit and meet a few people, assuming anyone would still be around by the time I'd get there.
