Orlando, FL people.. what to do - visiting from Chicago
So a buddy of mine called me up the other day and we came up with an idea that we both are needing a much-needed vacation. We decided right then and there to take a road trip with our bikes from the Chicago suburbs here to Orlando, Florida. I've visited Florida many times when I was young with the family and have been to Orlando, Miami, Tampa, and other areas as well. A good friend of mine lives in Jacksonville but not too sure how far that is from Orlando (haven't mapquested it yet). We plan to visit somewhere around the end of July and stay there for about 4 days to a week.
With that said, we plan to ride there which I believe says will take us about "18-19 hours" obviously we aren't going to go there nonstop so it will take us a day or two given we go probably on average about 70-80 the whole way.
What is there to do in Orlando that is fun yet not too expensive? I'd love to hit up the beach area since here in Chicago it's really nothing too special and I seriously love palm trees and just the overall feel of that atmosphere.
Any inputs, advice, and whatever else it'd be great. If anyone has the hookup on a hotel/motel in that area do feel free to chime in, I'd love to meet some Florida/Orlando G owners as well even though we'll be on the bikes. I'll be bringing my SLR with me of course to take pictures of the entire trip there and back.

If I'm on the bike I'll only have one.

Keep the suggestions coming! I can't wait for this much needed vacation, heck I know I won't want to go back to Chicago that's for sure.

I'm a roller coaster junkie, and Islands of Adventure & Universal have some cool ones.
Front seat of the ice side of Dueling Dragons is a must, and riding the Hulk is really cool if you can manage it on a day when the park isn't very full, ride it late, like right before the park closes, and it's empty... it's more intense.
Also, it's hard to go wrong with FL beaches

I'm terrified of roller coasters. I'm always down for the beach though.
Keep the suggestions coming, a FL g club meet with our two bikes (pending more possibly) is always a nice thought.

I'll stick to the tea cup rides and bumper cars

Dueling Dragons was replaced by Harry Potter's coaster...Hulk is still sweet! I-Drive has some pretty zany stuff so you should check that out...as always all the theme parks are cool too
Beaches here you have Cocoa Beach, Daytona, New Smyrna...even West Coast in St. Pete has some decent stuff
