Unhappy My engine is about to die !??

For sometime now my low oil light has been coming on every so often goes away when i give it gas but pops up when im at idle so last night my buddy says that it means that my engine life is about due to start looking for another motor he gave me the run down on how it has something to do with the compression rods slowly giving away ? so is this true ? what should i do ?

I had a similar problem on a build motor, but in addition I had lots of whine coming from the oil pymp. I do have a oil pressure gauge and it was showing good oil pressure. Few days later oil pressure started jumping up and down and engine developed a knocking sound and lots of vibrations..... spun 2 main bearings .
Check your oil pressure . But most likely its your bearings ....

I started getting a chatter from my transmission a week ago. Only when I come to a stop and then start rolling again, I get a slight chatter from the transmission.

Is the motor consuming any oil? Keep an eye on your oil level and oil pressure. It's possible it may be on it's way out, but not guaranteed. It also may be a good idea to have a compression/leakdown test done to check the integrity of the motor.

Its most likely the main bearings or rod bearings a friend of mine has 186k on his and his bearing just broke apart into a bunch of pieces and hes in the process of rebuilding it. But his was making a slight knock at first then it got worst until it sounds like someone took a box of screw threw it in his motor and closed it.

Shipping that motor from texas might be a bitch though. Maybe Turbo Toys might have one local?
