Yeah the rant is on my facebook.
Basically, I get a notice in my mailbox stating that I have to pick up my mail at xxx address. Assuming normal USPS hours of operation, and me working until 7pm, I decide to go on my lunch break TO THE ADDRESS THAT WAS HAND-WRITTEN ON THE CARD. Well, I have to drive all the way across town from work. I get there and the doors are locked and a big sign that states that "as of 12/24 all mail is to be picked up at yyy address." So I drive another 10-15 minutes further to this other location. They inform me that my mail is not there, it's at the other location. The closed one? Really? Where the fawk is my mail? They told me I'd have to go back tomorrow and the lady was going to a) file a complaint on my behalf and b) request my mail be sent to their location by tomorrow. Wasted 1.5 hours of my day. Come to find out they are open from 7am-11pm SEVEN DAYS A WEEK?!?! Wtf kind of post office is this!? If I had known that I would have gone after work.... I'd still have to go tomorrow though.... FML.

Violently dismember, then choke with their own limbs? That's always a fun one.Originally Posted by ishiftinheels

I just love some of the newsletters from the 24-hr of LeMons
Quote:
Driverless Cars OK'd in LeMons
"X Ceedingly Bad Idea Prize" Announced for Autonomous LeMons Cars
Emeryville CA--In a bid to eliminate the typical team's weakest link, 24 Hours of LeMons, Inexplicably Presented by Car and Driver will begin taking driverless autonomous vehicles immediately. Defined as computer-controlled, self-piloting mobile platforms, "autonomous vehicles" (AV) are not to be confused with "terrible hoopties whose idiot drivers bail out" (THWIDBO), of which the series has plenty already.
To accelerate the shift from human drivers to the better-smelling silicon variant, LeMons has also instituted the X Ceedingly Bad Idea Prize, an award of one million nickels to the race's first AV winner. Before being allowed to compete, AVs must demonstrate safety and on-track performance on par with those of regular LeMons teams, including the ability to ignore yellow flags; stop dead in mid-corner for no reason; never find the racing line; and argue irrationally when called in for penalties.
While AV equipment is exempt from the series' $500 price cap, both Google and Carnegie-Mellon quickly announced they'd go after the Prize using new systems based on such LeMons-appropriate technologies as wooden legs, Atari Pong consoles, GM Cross-Fire Injection, and string. Humans wearing C3PO costumes are ineligible.
