Just picked up my '05 6mt
Well at 10:00am this morning I got a call from Jim at Lokey Infiniti to let me know that my car has arrived. Me and my roomate (who works in the internet sales department at a chevy dealer) headed out to clearwater on along a 1 1/2 hour drive. I was kinda weary if I would get my car or not because my roomate told me that I should of been able to get the monthly payments of my car before I get there. I was told by Jim that there was no way. When we showed up Jim was very nice and showed me my car in detail and we proceeded to talk to the finance manager..
We sat down and I was initially hoping for payments of $475/month for a 39 month lease with 15k miles/year. Instead I got a figure of $590/month for 42 months! He showed me my credit score which was about 75 points lower than it was less than 1 year ago, and it was my beacon score (equifax). He offered a money factor of .00355 and said he barely got me approved for that, but then contradicted himself merely minutes later by saying he just enters in my info and the computer spits out a money factor....
I talk to my rooomate outside and he told me to talk to Jim because he is certain that they are probably getting me on a couple of points ( % points) to make up for the $500 over invoice deal. I talked to Jim and he brought over the finance manager and the store manager and first off I want to stress that Jim was a fantastic guy to work with but the manager of the store was a total AS*HOLE. He tried to tell us that this is a great deal, which we agreed the $500 over invoice was a great deal but I don't feel the money factor was fair, and he said that he can't even get a car at infiniti for less than that.......PLEASE, we laughed and he made some smart remark and said he didn't want to argue and left...thank god!
After going back and forth and telling them that I think I wasted a trip here and might not be getting the car he said he would try to talk to the bank and get the money factor down to .00302. He left and came back with the approval and I agreed to $514+tax which comes to $550/month for 39 months.
I am not bashing this company in any way, the only gripe I had was that I could not get a monthly payment on the car before I went there. They knew I wouldn't be happy with the money factor and therefore have more selling power. All in all i ended up technically getting the car for $500 over invoice, though their was an extra $500 dealer fee and $145 PDI fee. I think that I would do business there again and I would make sure that I would have Jim help me out with the process he deserves an A+++. I would recommend Lokey Infiniti to buy a car, just try to get some payment info b4 you head out.
Now onto the car....It is AMAZING. I currently own a 2001 Acura Cl-s (going back in 6 days) and the G35 pretty much owns it in any category. I haven't got on it much but I can tell it clearly out handles my cl-s, it doesn't feel like a boat and the brakes are 100 times better. The car came with 8 miles and currently has 160 miles, mostly from the drive home. The car is absolutely beautiful and I love the look of the wheel tire combo. The G35 actually feel like a smoother ride than my Cl-s and this is with 40 series tires on the G and 50 series on the CL-S! I should be able to take some pics tomorrow as I haven't seen any pics of a '05 6mt Black/Black.

it all depends on the color you want, cause i had the option of getting the other black one but i really wanted a DG, mostly cause i dont have a garage, and black is too hard to maintain.
I'm glad you had a good experience at Lokey, cause all the dealerships in SFL are awfull
I should get mine in bout 2-3 weeks, also from Lokey
but anywayz gongratz and enjoy

I've got a PM into John at Lokey. I'm kind of unsure what to say at this point, but stating that I'm not exactly thrilled to hear about your experience would be a major understatement. IMO, $500 over invoice is $500 over invoice. Extra fees are NOT part of the offer and I need John to step in here and "fix" things.
BTW, I've PM'd him a link to this thread and want him to reply. Odds are this post will get moved to the proper FGC Forum soon.

Update: John at Lokey Infiniti sent me a PM and he's looking into this specific situation and will be getting back with me sometime today. Something didn't happen as it was promised and John is officially "looking into it". Unfortunately the SALES DIRECTOR will not be in the office until ~9:00am today, so it will take a few hours for John to get to the bottom of things.
I'm requesting that everyone hold all judgement and posts for a few hours to give John, the SERVICE DIRECTOR, the opportunity to find out what the SALES department is doing.
My goal is to get your additional ~$650 refunded! After all, a promise is a promise and $500 over invoice is $500 over invoice!

Here's the latest... Still haven't heard from John since about 10am. The Sales Director, Service Director and "Mr. Lokey" all understood the deal. It sounds like a sales person might not have understood the FGC-VPP (right...) and may have added in "normal" fees that he/she should not have added in.
Anyway, I'm really on John for a solution to this problem and will be calling him at 3:30 with several questions. I'll get to the bottom of this soon.
BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ChazM. 25 years old today!
How's the new G?
