Everyone who's "in the know" realizes that ChazM purchased a new 2005 6MT from Lokey Infiniti on January 26th. He was the first person to go through the FGC- VPP (Florida G35 Club - Vehicle Purchase Program).
Once he got to the dealership apparently 2 things happened.
The first, by his own admission, he did not go into the dealership with his own financing already worked out. IMO, this is a MUST DO for anyone purchasing a vehicle. Lokey offered Chaz an interest rate / money factor that was not as good as he hoped. After a little "work" (which BTW isn't supposed to happen according to the "no haggling agreement") Chaz got this portion of the deal under control.
The second issue was a lack of communication between the SERVICE DIRECTOR, the sales director, the finance manager and the sales man (all the way up and back down the food chain). Apparently Lokey Infiniti has a ~$145 fee that is vehicle detail fee. Also there was a $500 Retail Delivery Fee (I've been told that very Infiniti Dealership in Florida has this fee, it ranges from $399-$599 depending on the dealership). Apparently these fees are so standard that they are printed on the paperwork or new vehicle order sheet. The sales person *thought* that these fees were MANDATORY and not negotiable. According to John Oliva's initial understanding these fees were supposed to be REMOVED COMPLETELY from the deal, thus his $500 over invoice was just that, $500 over invoice.
John told me that he had a CRAZY day with meetings, interivews, setting up an in house detailing shop, etc... He printed out the thread Chaz started and left a message with the SALES DIRECTOR.
That's where we currently are as of now. THE GOOD NEWS is that John is a stand up guy and Chaz is going to get these fees reimbursed one way or another.
John is going to FINALIZE all of the FGC-VPP details before COB Friday. His goal is to make the $500 over invoice offer the FINAL DEAL with no additional fees (as initially promised)!!! If he is unsuccessful in this he will ammend his sticky thread to let everyone know the TOTAL above invoice price.
BOTTOM LINE... Chaz will be reimbursed for these 2 fees. He will either receive the money back from Lokey Infiniti through the SALES DEPARTMENT, or John said that he personally would offer the same amount in future service. (John is really pushing for Chaz to get a full refund and for this offer to be FIRM and UNCHANGING for future purchases).
IMO, John is a fantastic person to work with and his only fault is that he is not a salesman (maybe that's not really a fault
). He's a true auto enthusiast who wants the FGC to do very well and is going out of his way to make this happen.
Hang in there for another 24 hours as this whole ordeal is straightened out. I'll post any and all details as they are FINALIZED.
Thank you for reading.

I am proud to report that I have sent a message to Chaz informing him that Lokey Infiniti will be issuing him a check for the fees in question! As I have said from the beginning, being the Service Director it is impossible for me to follow every deal all the way through. If I tried to do that, I would probably not be the Service Director for very long. With that said, this is in part due to a misunderstanding on my part that stems from my inexperience at selling cars. For that I apologize...
Stay tuned, as I will be posting a formal explanation of this situation. I am very happy that we were able to do what Lokey does best- make people happy by correcting any oversights.
Chaz, enjoy the car! and Happy Birthday!

Thanks John for getting things straight. I REALLY feel like this was a great deal now, just like I felt just a few days ago. I did receive a call from the manager (not sure of his name) and he let me in on the situation and I would like say he was very curtious and friendly, negating anything I said about him before.

That was probably Bill Martin, the Sales Manager. Again, glad to bring a good resolution to this. Hopefully now you are happy and can enjoy your new vehicle!Originally Posted by ChazM

I just talked to John today, and I agree that he's a great person. I'm looking to purchase very soon, so I contacted him to start the whole process. He's very friendly, took down my info, and took the time to explain the FGC VPP to me. About an hour later I recieved a call from Mark Sexton (not sure if that's how you spell his name, sorry if its incorrect), who was happy to assist me, and that he'll probably be the one to handle the deals. He was very nice. Lokey didn't have exactly what I wanted, but he said that he'll do anything to help me out. No pressure to buy from their current inventory, was given the option to order, option to get the car from another dealer, choose to wait, etc. Even though I haven't purchased (atleast not yet) from them, I give them an A+ for customer service. Great club sponsor! Now I just need to figure out what I want to do, but I will be making the trip to Clearwater very soon. Thanks John & Thank You Lokey!

Wow I'm happy for you Pinosport and this sounds very encouraging! I was told that people were wondering why I haven't called John yet. So far things have been on hold, but John I will be giving you a call very soon as we need to talk. Thank you again for everything you and Lokey have done for our club
