Need help with homelink install

Hey, I really do not want to pay to have this thing installed. Hopefully another G club member in the Orlando area knows how and can help me install the rearview homelink mirror in my G. Let me know.

I had a new mirror installed today after mine broke off, to much bass, took the dealer a whole 3 minutes to change it out. I don't know exactly how to tell you to do it it's not to hard at all i think you need some small allen wrenches tho.

Is this a new addition to your car? Are there instructions that came with the homelink set up?

It is a new addition and I bought off of another g35 member, so I do not have instructions. DiamondGCoupe, how much did they charge you to replace the mirror?

It was my understanding that this was not as easy at it may seem if your car did not come with the homelink system installed from the factory. Something about removing the over head carpeting??? Good luck.

Have you done a search? Apparently people have done it so it shouldn't be that hard if the mirror you bought came with the wiring harness. Check the homelink website too and these few threads.

I've done many searches not only on this forum but the 350z one as well since it is the same mirror. Unfortunately I haven't found anything worthwhile. I guess I will just bring it by my audio installer and see if he can get it working. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

How much did the mirror and set up cost you if you don't mind me asking. I am interested in getting it myself. Also, let me know how the install goes. Thanks and good luck.

I haven't gotten it installed yet since I got rear ended last week and need to get that fixed first but I bought the mirror on the 350z forum from a g35 owner fro $100 shippedj and i figure my audio installer will charge me around 30-40 for install so about 140 for everything.

My audio installer owes me a favor since he never hardwired my radar detector. So it may be even less then the 30-40.
