G35Sean's car is ALIVE!

Well after basically reinstalling the plenum, checking the bolts on the throttle body, trying to bleed air from the hoses, trying to tighten some of the bolts on the headers without any luck we finally broke down and tried the quick ECU reset (the one where you take off the negative battery terminal and press the brake 4-5 times).

Viola, the G came to life! After all that work and frustration all the G needed was a simple ECU reset to make the mods work. I guess there is something to the grounding wires and ECU resets on the automatics.

I definitely learned something today. That is the 5AT's and the 6MT's are completely DIFFERENT animals. Looks like next Friday is going to be a track day for Sean and I, weather permitting.

I never heard of that method. That seems a lot simplier than the timing method, but then you'd lose your radio settings right?

Yes you loose your radio presets but who cares it works and it's so much easier than the timing methos everyone else uses. I don't know how but it does. I never heard of it until yesterday when I did a search on G35Driver for ecu reset. It was the last post in the thread.
Before we did the ecu reset and fixed the locations of the grounding wires the car didn't feel any different and I have the dyno to prove it. I went to Coastal after Lokey on Friday which is about 40 miles away. By that time the ecu should have recognized the mods. The previous week I had a baseline run of 227. Then I added the Z-Tube to see if it's just noise or if you get any gains, I gained 6hp (233hp). So this past Friday with a Z-Tube, Crawford Plenum, Crawford Headers and Crawford Cats I only gained an additional 7hp(240hp).
Now after tweaking a few things and resetting the ecu its a drastic change. The car pulls like you wouldn't believe. If you think you car is fun to drive when its stock get the Crawford package, you'll love it. For anyone who gets the Crawford package and has Lokey install it make sure you buy everything from Doug. They will NOT install pre-owned headers.

You have the sedan? what do you believe you are putting to the wheels now? 240rwhp seems pretty good.

240 is nothing if you have the Crawford package...stocks put down high 220s and Ztube adds 6-8rwhp

i'd say he's putting down 280+rwhp

Congrats, Sean, Neff. I'm glad the problem was easily fixable and not as worse as I thought it was. Is there still that weird sound when you accelerate?

My guess is that Sean is putting down about 50+ bhp over stock and 20+ tq over stock (since he's only 260/260). I think I'm probably putting down 40+ bhp over stock and 20+ tq (since I'm 280/270).

I think Wes' numbers are high unless we dyno on a dynapack.

Man stop teasing us stock folk I'm still dreaming of a Z tube lol, I'd love a ride in your or Neff's car... So where are the gains most noticeable and do you have a before and after dyno chart?

Geesh, I can't have any fun picking on Sean. I guess this is payback for me leaking Daniels shift_light surprise.
