My Car Is Broke.
my cousin has an evo and i drove to the SUNCO, early afternoon we filled our tanks with 110 octane gas i had a quarter 93 octane left, i drove for 10 min on 95 the car shut off and did not turn back on why??? his car is perfectly fine, i just had it towed to broward infiniti.
Did you to check to see whether or not the 110 octane was a leaded gasoline? I've swung by a sunoco that had the same and almost got it prior to our 1st dyno day until I read the "leaded" fine print. Infiniti recomends unleaded gasoline. Hope everything goes well with your car.
If you filled up with 110 octane you filled up with leaded, unleaded usually only has about a 100 or 103 octane. What probably happened was the lead killed the oxygen sensor and then the car started running really rich causing the flames out the tailpipe. The flames is unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust. I hope infiniti doesn't find out you put leaded or they will charge you for the parts and labor. Good luck.

i was told that our cars could take 110 octane, but i might have needed a test pipe.
should be ready in the morning.

The guys above have it right- if it's not UNLEADED FUEL it's not good (or legal) to run in your car. Consider yourself rather lucky to have "slipped under the radar" on this one- I'm still baffled that fuel quality wasn't checked during diagnosis on this problem.
