Try this. I dunno if it'll work, but it's grisoft's (makers of AVG) removal tool for the downloader.agent trojans.

Worth a shot.

you should do what aznluder, all virus and trojan hide in registry keys. some even spread to others so you might want to check out all registry keys, be prepared to spend some time, cause theres a bunch of them.
If not try to back up all data that you know is not corrupted and format your drive. what i do is back up my data into an external drive, so if i ever get a virus, i can back up my data from restore point on the external drive.
best of luck, and stay away from weird **** sites

try http://housecall.trendmicro.com

i had similiar problems as you. NAV and all of my ad removing software didn't detect anything. the link is to an online anti virus, and it detected and cleaned every last one of the virii/trojans for me. give it a shot, anything beats reformatting

Also try running this and see what exactly it picks up. PM me the log file and I'll try to see if there's anything fishy.

HiJackThis is a good program to find out what your computer is doing

It will show u all reg keys that launch programs or cookies or anything of the nature. Combining that with Ad-Aware should fix most problems...

That being said im formating next week because its been a while and im getting some DLL errors and IE is acting weird

I recommend Trend Micro's Antivirus. Works very well, and it seems to eb the best out there so far.

Well I've tried most of your tips and unfortunately it looks like I may have to reformat. Thanks again for the tips.

In a last effrort before reformatting I tried Spyware Doctor and it worked the viruses seem to be gone. Hopefully it stays that way.

You can go to your "REGEDIT" screen to remove, but got to be careful. If you don't know what your doing this can be fatal!!.
Run a virus scan and find the exact name of Trojan or virus.
*Note* Only perform if Virus scan can not remove.

1) goto your Start/run screen and type "regedit" and press enter
2) goto edit and click on "find" and type in the name of trojan/virus
2)Find the name of the Trojan and goto regedit and manually delete each.

Good luck

I'd also recommend Microtrend. Their online antivirus is great.

I'd also recommend running hijack this and putting your log into the analyzer at www.hijackthis.de

You can 'google' spyware blaster & download for free.
Keep it updated regularly. It keeps your computer from
'downloading' all sorts of mean, nasty, ugly things.

run a search on symantec's site for the virus definitions. they have by far one of the best virus labs. this will tell you what kind of threat, how it affects your pc, and what file names to look for (you may not have gotten all of it). write down these file names/extensions. go to start menu and run a search for each one separately. if they still show up, write down where (folder) for each. restart in SAFE mode. run the search again, and this time you will be able to delete the virus if anything is left. it also helps to disconnect from the internet while scanning for the viruses/spyware as they may not show up and/or allow you to delete while they are running. good luck.

by the way, one of the best - detection, ease of use, limited slowing of your machine, and price - is authentium's command av. $20/yr, and you get virus definitions that day, not once a week.
