she's been ragging on the G
Not on the G, but on all the clueless people on this board who buy the car and want it to run "as fast as an M3", "in the 13's/12's", etc. My original post was "my answer to everyone that wants a Vortech is get an M3 and be done with it.", or as others have said, "you bought the wrong car buddy". Then you told me how the M3 is slower, less reliable and more expensive, which is not exactly true and the reason why I stated my opinion on one vs the other I'm being absolutely objective, it's not like roadfly pays me to defend bimmers..

and praising the M3 and the Z06's in many different threads.
I actually tried talking somebody out of an M3 they were going to trade their G35 in on. Then we have the Z06 thread (last two lines). Does that sound like ragging on the G? All are totally different cars, each has its advantages and disadvantages. I've mentioned many times that a Z06 or an M would probably be my next car, but I love my car and never said a word against it.

As a very wise man once said,

The above statements are only my take on the issue. If you disagree with anything I typed then you are 100% right!

I am not clueless. The M3 never really appealed to me and $55K is overpriced for what you get IMO. I had to have the G from the very first time I saw it. I didn't buy the wrong car it just wasn't fast enough to my liking and I have taken car of that problem. If I damage my motor reaching my goal oh well....**** happened hopefully it doesn't happen again (crossing my fingers).

I guess this has gone way too deep that initially intended, this wasn't directed at you, Neff, anybody that knows what they're doing. But dang, there is a kid who bought a Vortech from someone else on this forum after a whopping 2 hours of research on F/I as he admitted haha. Same guy totalled his M3 a few months back. And there's tons of threads with clueless newbie questions like that. The real question is this: if you were to do it all again, would you buy a G and go through the same modding process, or would you buy any car you want that's fast enough* for you out of the box? Either way, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your car, I really wish the G could handle boost as reliably as a Supra or even an SC400 or an IS. Now THAT would have been my perfect car.

*if such a thing exists at all

Honestly if I could do it again, I would buy two cars. Actually I would lease 1 and buy the other. I would lease a cheap car like toyota tercell that seats four so if I need to take my kids anywhere I have the space. A 3 year lease might come to like $10K. For the second car I would buy a new C6 Z06. Anyway that is neither here nor there cause at the time I bought the G, I did not make as much money as I do now (recent promotion for me and wifey now $ells real estate). Also the C6 Z06 is not out yet.

BTW, I did not take anything personally.

You're the man, C6 Z06, that's what I'm talkin about! Or you know what's even better, the Blue Devil, SC'ed 7.0L 600bhp beast. Such a sweet car. See Neff? It's not just me

The 2007 SVT/Shelby Cobra is gonna be interesting as well.
450HP S/C V8.....all for under $40K....

- I know there is a lot of G35-M3 tension on here. I love both cars...

I love both cars too. Whats not to love. I just hated BMW NA more than anything. The dealers were too snobby as well. My money was better spent elsewhere.

And I agree with Gman. When I saw the G, I had to have one. Its such a beautiful looking car...just lacking on M3 type power. I too would rather FI a G than buy a Vette or M3. (by the way, I had a 1997 chevy camaro for 7 years and I will never buy American again b/c of reliability and depreciation figures...and before this year, the C5 interior was exactly the same as my Camaro's interior...but the C6 seems to have upgraded a ton and yes...that 40K SVT Shelby looks mean on paper but it still looks too much like a base 15K mustang)

If you know dealers in Miami, The Collection is the snobby place. I have never felt like the BMW dealers are snobby...They have always treated me quite professionally. Maybe its just the two dealers in Dade County....

They are mod friendly as well. If you click on my sig and see my headlights, u will notice that I have the standard Bixenon, and I put in two more projectors in the highbeam area. I used factory ballasts and bulbs for them as well. When one of the bulbs blew in my highbeam projector, my dealer replaced it for free.

Thats what I call service....lol

I don't care. It gives me something non-legal to argue about during work

What do you guys think of the Clear Corner striped overlay. There is a thread about it the modification forum. I think they look nice and adds a touch of distinction not found on most other G's. I have a DG...so..this is what it would look like.

Probably wont do it as I like the clear look on the dark car but I was curious to see what you guys thought
