Here's a more detailed map that includes predicted wind speeds along with the projected path.



This is from the National Weather Services' National Hurricane Center portion of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) web site. They seem to be one of the most reliable predictors of hurricanes. If you want to check for real-time updates, the site is:

Pick the Storm Tracker option on the left side of the page.

Not would be a good time to update our life insurance policy and will.. just to cover all the angles.

I thought he was headed down to South Florida.... I assumed he meant FLL or MIA.. O well yeh Orlando looks good

come on guys, why the negativity?!? offices are closing, get some snacks, beer and dvds and get ready to have a long (stormy) weekend! katrinas not that bad, might reach cat 1 (ooooh, scary) by the time she hits tomorrow, not even as strong as a lot of storms we get. im just happy i dont have to drive 55 miles each way to work today and tomorrow! just trying to add some positive spin to the thread

my power went out last night at 8 and went back on at 3 in the morning...........hurricanes suck

still no power here in hollwood, went out at 5pm yesterday. i'm on my laptop now w/ lowazz 56k connection

I'm sorry to hear that. I heard a TV report during lunch and found out that Katrina was much worse for South Florida than I originally expected.

I was without power for five days last year after that last hurricane. It's really a pain... I hope your power comes back on soon!
