Greetings to all SFL members, just moved here two days ago from San Diego and I'm looking at installing a car alarm and tint my windows. Can anyone recommend a good place in the Tampa area. This search function is not helping me much right now. Any help would be great. Also I was quoted $1000 for the following install

Remote Start, pager alarm with all bells and whistles. Programmed for window roll up and roll down on all 4, motin sensors, windows, doors, trunk, hood, transmission bypass for my manual transmission, etc. Just want to make sure i'm getting a decent deal. Thanks for the help.

Give Divine Sound a try. They have always been good guys. BAck in 2002, I traveled alot with them on the DB Drag Racing circuit. I was part of their World Finals team. Krik is the owner and he was always upfront and honest.

I think they are on Dale Mabry if memory serves well.

Many FGC members, including me, had their window tint done by Dexter (screen name:Rollmodl) from Creative Carz. The only phone number I have is (954)522-2622 but it may be outdated because he was moving into the Tampa area soon. Anyways, he was also giving discounts for club members too (one benefit you could use right away if you decide to join) that could save you some money. Finally, you might want send an e-mail to Daniel (SFLG35) for some direction with alarms, he seems to be very educated regarding aftermarket electronic parts for our car (he also lives in Tampa too). Good Luck.

I take my cars to Window Tint America, 2169 Drew St. in Clearwater. ESEMES knows him and referred me there. They do good work with a warranty. They don't do alarms though.

First, try Dexter. He always does a great job. If he is not available, I would contact AVE. I don't have their number, but they are an audio store located on US19 just north of Countryside Mall on the left hand side. I took my old car there for a few years and they always did quality work.

All, thanks for the replies and help. I actually had all the work done on my car yesterday because of the appointment thing. I still paid the $1000 but they really did a good job there. The shop is over in Brandon, my brother knows the owner and they go back. Just in case anyone needs their info here it is:
Norsky Mendez (manager)
HiTek Car Stuff
604 East Brandon Blvd (SR 60)
Brandon, FL 33511
813-238-8468

Again a really clean job and very professional. They do tinting, security systems, mobile video and audio systems, auto accessories, etc. Again thank you all.

How did the rear window turn out? Do head lights get that starry effect around the rear defrost lines? I am still shopping for a window tinter.

BTW welcome to Tampa.
