I dunno, i think if i found a way to mount a 45" HDTV in my car, i could prolly turn some pretty little heads.

I have a 62" Mitsubishi DLP television and I love it. I bought it last year before football season and am still enjoying it this season. I'm a biiiiiiig Buccaneer fan, so i watch all the games and ESPN in HD. Great picture.

Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for you, these sets are on sale for around $2500 now. Only bad thing is that they only have one digital (HDMI) connector. I have a DVD player that upscales through Component, so it's not a big issue for me. I use the HDMI connector for my cable box and Component for my DVD player.

New models are around the corner, as always...

If it was me, I'd go for the HDTV, then the wheels.

I should have probably prefaced that last statement with a few IMNSHO... YMMV... and stuff like that...

Remember that an LCD rear projection set or front projector will have the screen door effect. The LCD's can't get spaced as tightly together as the micromirrors on a DLP chip. Wait a little if you really want high performance HDTV because 1080p DLP chips are coming soon. Most people don't notice the rainbows of a DLP, especially with the newer generation color wheels.

Check out Cotco for HDTV's BTW. They have an unconditional satisfaction guarantee so if anything happens to the set, return it for a refund, even several years down the road. No need to pay extra for an extended warranty at BB, CC, or the other stores. That will save you $500 or so right there.

I'd go with the TV and new computer (browse g35driver on a big screen from your couch sounds cool!) and wait until Matt/ZUL8R gets tired of his Mayas and buy them used from him

he's helping me pick the TV since his use is the same as mine. Most TVs including all the ones mentioned above do not meet my needs as a PC monitor.

Aleic,
I'll try to make it over to see your new beauty soon so I can see the quality and features, im unavailable this weekend though.

Why doesn't the Sony LCD Projection fit the bill if it has a DB15 for computer hookup!

That's not gonna happen. I got some 5Zigens though I could sell you. I'll give you a good deal. As for TV vs. rims, I'd go rims. Hell I had my rims before I had my Z. Kinda depends on what TV you have now and if you really NEED a new one or just want to upgrade. I have a 50" Samsung DLP and love it!

Any TV can be used as a monitor. But 99% of them have horrific quality. Most of the LCDs max out at 1024x768 which is too low to be used as a monitor. Heck I use 1400x1200 on my laptop screen.

And Matt,
NEED is a subjective word.
Technically i dont need a TV or RIMs.

I talk and talk but no one listens to the old guy. !!!!!!!!!!!!! Wes just buy the Sharp 6GU already. I will even show you how to do the 1080P hack for FREE
