You should splice in before the signal is amped therefore bypassin the need for a LOC. To do this you need to splice into the lines coming in from the HU to the Factory Amp Located on the Left side of the trunk just under your spare tire. You'll need to splice in and convert the wires to RCA then just plug them into your amp and you're done.

Also sound like you're trying to Bridge your amp and not suceeding. Write up in detail which Amp you're using and what model of speakers and I might be able to help there too.

if you plan on getting the rear active steering you wont be able to lower your car, just a heads up

Will have to look into that... never heard about not being able to lower the car if equipt with Active Steering till now. See that would be a problem then...hmmm. Any links to info on this subject by any chance? If I can't lower a G35 with Active Steering well then I'm definetly changing my options.

Question

Guys...Miami man here,

I want to wire up an LOC to my factory Bose amp (05 Sedan) to run a couple of subs but I'm having trouble locating WHICH wires to tap.

Anyone have the diagram for the '05...

yes I did search and did come across an 06 diagram, but I believe its for the coupe anyways...

Thanks for the help guys, see you all out there on Saturday

Remember, if you splice into the line before the AMP you won't need a LOC. The Head Unit only dishes our 2v so you'll be fine. Highend Radios that aren't Preamped dish out 4v so you're really safe there.

yea but that would be an amp that can handle speaker level inputs...like a JL amp

so I think any other would need a LOC where it takes the speaker level type to RCA type

anyways i did pm vrsc and waiting on his reply

The signal is not speaker level before it gets to the Bose amp. It is around 2 volts.

I tapped into my HU before the Bose amp on both of my G's and ran it straight to my amps.

you need to cut a pair of RCA's, split and strip the two wires that are inside (one is + and the other is -) and solder them to the appropriate wires before they enter the Bose amp. I cut the head unit wires about an inch before they entered the Bose amp.

I don't know if the wire colors are the same for the 05 sedan, maybe do a search for the service manual, but these are the wire colors for the 04, which may or may not be the same.

BOSE WIRING COLORS
Factory speaker harness wiring colors

Front Right + Gray/Silver
Front Right - Yellow/Silver

Front Left + Green/Silver
Front Left - Red/Silver

Rear Door Right + Brown/Silver
Rear Door Right - Black/Silver

Rear Door Left + Green/Yellow
Rear Door Left - Black/Yellow

Rear Deck Right + Blue/Red
Rear Deck Right - Blue/White

Rear Deck Left + Blue/Yellow
Rear Deck Left - White/Green

Head unit output colors

The (+) are all on the same side of the connector.

Head Output Front Right + Orange/Blue
Head Output Front Right - White/Blue

Head Output Front Left + White
Head Output Front Left - Orange

Head Output Rear Right + Blue
Head Output Rear Right - Pink

Head Output Rear Left + Teal
Head Output Rear Left - Purple

Remote Wire Light Blue/ Silver

There are no sub outputs from the head unit. The Bose amp gets 4 channels (front & rear, right & left) and then splits off the signal to the sub. You want to rely on your non-bose amp for the crossover filtering and get the signal before the Bose amp.

If you are only adding a sub for now, run the rear speaker wires from the head unit into your new sub amp and use the head unit's fader to increase and decrease the loudness of the sub.

Better yet is to replace all the door speakers and power your new sub and door speakers with one or two amps. I did this in my sedan and run the front and rear speakers off the 4 channels of a 5 channel amp (reducing the gain for the rear speakers) and using the rear fader from the head unit to control the sub.

well the amp im getting has a separate bass **** for bass control, so that wont be an issue. But I will be running the the LOCs just in case (off the rears) so I dont get the polarity wrong goin to the amp so I wont risk shorting the whole system out.

Thanks again guys

You can still get the polarity wron if you wire upthe LOCs backward.

what amp are you getting? JL? If so, you won't need an LOC.

Are you amping your entire system or just adding a sub? I thought you were just adding a sub.

Im not too sure if Im getting the JL amp just yet...I am going to be borrowing a Kicker amp and Subs.

But what im getting at with the LOC & Polarity, its less of a risk (one positive and one negative) if the diagrams that I have are correct.

Thanks
