You guys should just really change your own oil. Come on, how hard is it?

It looks like Alan forgot to sign out last time he was at OI and an employee started posting under his screen name.Originally Posted by djniknala
I don't know why you guys bash OI so much. They aren't a high performance friendly dealership but they do offer good service. If Lokey would have called then the thread would probably be about how much they care about their customers. Their system is the same as the Ford families system and the service calls are triggered based on date of sale and not last service. Have fun driving 2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. Flame suit on!
Alan you might be the first person who I've heard of that had a good experience at OI. Mine sucked! It would be nice for the people you go to them to feel comfortable and not have to worry about leaving with more problems than they started with.

All three times my 1 month old G has went in for problems, I created a detailed list to discribe what I wanted done. I also mentioned that they not deviate off of this list. If something else needed done, I insisted that they call me first and we would go from there. Since I have now gotten new wheels and tires, there is no way they will ever be removing them or coming close to them with and air wrench!!

Well, if you can get an oil change in ~30 minutes for ~$35 it SAVES me money (time=money).
Getting the car set up, taking the under pannel off, doing the labor, putting the car back together, cleaning up/showering, disposing of the oil, etc... takes me a good 2 hours. Not worth the hassle IMO plus I'd hate for the old oil to spill in the G on the way to Advanced Auto Parts.

+1. And I hate using a jack to lift the car and positioning jack stands under the car so I don't get crushed. And I don't get sweaty either.Originally Posted by neffster

I took them my synthetic oil and let OI change it for $23 in 30 minutes using a $7 OEM filter and a new crush washer, for whatever that costs. Subtract the cost of the filter alone and it costs $16 for 30 minutes and I don't have to do anything but surf the net. I can even do some office work at the dealership.
I used to change my oil but not anymore.

Wow, 2 hrs is a long *** time. I do mine in about 30 min, ramps make it pretty easy. Then I just go jump in the poolOriginally Posted by neffster
