Well this may come as a shock to many of you, but Ian is not on the Board of Directors. He volunteered to be the club secretary and treasurer and he works his tail off for the club.

Some of his duties are:

1. He updates the club roster with every new member
2. He sends the roster out to the sponsors so they can give our members the appropriate discounts
3. He keeps up with all of the corporations financial records on paypal and our club bank account for tax purposes.
4. Acts as the secretary at the BOD meetings (takes notes or meeting minutes, etc...)
5. Makes each and every individuals membership card
6. He mails out the membership cards and the t-shirts
7. Helps with planning club events, calling around to reserve locations, etc...
8. Helps getting t-shirts designed, printed and picked up
9. He spends about 1 day a week (every Tuesday) at my house keeping me up to date on club activities, finances, etc...
10. He sends out e-mails and PM's to all new members
11. He sends out e-mails with the latest event details for all of the members who do not frequent the forum
12. He attends sponsorship meetings with me
13. He helps update the club website membership counter
14. He acts as an ideas sounding board in the BOD forum
15. - 30. Plus all of the other important stuff I'm overlooking.

My guess is that he works between 10 and 20 hours EACH WEEK supporting this club and all of it's activities. He attends each and every meet and BOD meeting we have and he is, IMO, the most hard core club member in the FGC. He does all of this while working part time and attending college full time. For all of his hard work, he gets paid NOTHING! He is the sole person keeping the club running, and for that I want to thank him.

So, I'd like to get him something special. What we end up getting him will depend on how much we can bring in. If you are a CLUB SPONSOR or a club member and you would like to contribute to the "Ian Surprise Gift Fund", my personal paypal address is xyztneff1@cfl.rr.comxyz. Remove the xyz from the front and back. The club members will present this gift to Ian at the next All Florida Meet at Deleon Springs on November 19, 2005. Please consider sending in a payment and I will get him something with all of the money we bring in.

This money WILL NOT come out of the clubs expenses so it will be based on what individuals choose to give. 100% of the money donated will go towards the purchase of his gift.
