I have to pass on a couple of jokes I've picked up during my enlistment for you old-timers. I'm sure you've heard them before but the civilians here haven't.

How was it working for Noah? Did you know Captain Crunch when he was an Ensign?

It was fine working for myself . My biggest complaint was not with the time at sea rather it was the wait for the water to rise. I really needed the extra sea duty pay. I wish there would havebeen more people on that working party to build and stock the boat. There were a lot of volunteers on the day the rains began. I have no regrets.

Actually Crunch began his long career as an E1 and later signed up and was acceptedas a candidate for the Seaman to Admiral program. Crunch was then on the fast track to Admiral but just when he made Capt. he was caught holding a 1 man working party with the then CNO's daughter Schweet Cerial Boorda. Then CNO Admiral Boorda swore that Crunch would only see stars if he was hit in the head. So I knew but that was well before the scandal and all of the popularity that reslted in their union.... Captn Cruch Sweet Ceral.

Well I had neve heard the jokes before but felt compelled to demonstrate my ability to spin a sea story.

So were you in the haze grey canoe club too?
