You want to come over tomorrow and help me remove the grill and under body pannel then remove the tensioner pulley and belt and try to get the tensioner assy. apart and see what we can do to fix it? I'm hoping I can just use channel locks to back out the bolt w/o damaging the threads so that I can reuse the tensioner assy.

I'm calling NISSAN and Infiniti in a few minutes to see if anyone has just the bolt along with the bolt and entire assy. in stock. I figured I'd buy both, use which ever I need then return the other.

Also I'm gonna call Vortech and buy another pulley and another air filter. I think I'm gonna try timrod1011's mod down the line and machine down the ribs on one of the pulleys, reroute the serpentine belt and get a smaller sized belt for more adjustment. I've run out of travel on the tensioner as of now and am not sure where to go from here. Also, this would make going to the 2.87 pulley in the future IMPOSSIBLE since you're supposed to use the same size belt as the 3.12 pulley and just tighten the belt more.

The money thing does get me. My wife still doesn't know about my APS ST. It is a big source of hassle in my home. I try to look at it like, for the $12k I have put into it I have a pretty fast car that will beat most $80k cars. Now if only I can hide enough $ for that new forged engine...

Cool

OH No.....not another case of "Boosters Remorse".....

Jason, here are a couple of ways to look at it....

A lot of people trade cars every couple of years. They always loose at least $5,000 - $10,000.00 in depreciation.

My last car befor the G was a BMW 740i.
The sticker was over $65K. I bought it from my Dr. when it came off a 2 yr lease. It had 24K miles on it and was perfect. I paid approx. $36K for it.
He lost over $30,000 in two years and 24K miles!!!!!

Now do you feel any better????

Anyway....this is NOT a dress rehersal. You only get one shot to live life.

He who dies with the most toys....wins.

I'm keeping the mods to a minimum on both G's. For one, I can't afford to go all out on one, much less, two cars.

I have already modded the heck out of my GSXR 1000 with mag racing wheels, lightweight wave rotors, titanium exhaust, etc and it goes plenty fast. The car just doesn't compare to the thrust of the bike and I'd spend way too much money to try.

If I wanted to try to rival the thrust I felt on the bike, I would just buy a car with a sc or turbo already on it and go from there. My good friend has a bad *** AWD Subie STi that gives me a rush like the bike, but that isn't why I bought the G's.

But I'm tired of the bike, so now I'm parting out the goos stuff and returning it close to stock to sell it and I'm realizing how much money it cost me and how much I am losing. To me, the same thing would happen with the car, so my mods will be simple, relatively inexpensive, and reversible. I'd like to buy a set of used wheels after I sell my bike and that's going to be it. I already have all the audio gear for both G's, so I'm not spending much there either.

I fully support anyone who mods the heck out of their car because I like to look at and appreciate what they do. It's just not for me.

Todd you know I have a whole engine that's still good minus a hole in the block. Call me and I'm sure I have the part you need.

Wouldn't a hole in the block cease making that engine "good"?

Alan, you're 100 times more helpful than NISSAN.

Please PM me with your cell phone number. I don't have the club roster on me at the moment. Also, can I stop by later on today?

My mom had to lecture me on spending too much money on my car. The day I bought the car on January 4th, my mom said NO MODDING (wheels, stereo, nothing). I agreed that I wouldn't have enough money to mod. Three months later, I ordered a set of DPEs. The modding never stopped. So about 3 weeks ago, my mom said no more modding. Then I had to order brakes. A new front bumper is in the short future. Now my girlfriend is beginning to lecture me on spending too much money on the car.
Being a college student, I can look at all the money I have spent and wonder "What could I have done with the $7,000+ on money I have spent on the car?" Then like Alan and Jeremy have said, I can think "How many smiles and friends has this car brought me?" My car is my hobby. I love spending all the money on it that I have and do not regret it.

My ex-g/f would have been against this so that doesnt matter anymore. My parents have been surprisingly indifferent to it (they didnt like the 8" bazooka tube i put in my camaro so I thought this would make them flip...of course they havent seen everything yet). So...that has kinda left me to mod like crazy with no voice of reason.

Oh...i forgot to mention all this modding has taken place within the last 3 months (except for z-tube, clear corner, tint and caliper paint)

Prius TT all the way! Assuming that battery powered toy has an exhaust system that can actually spool the turbo.
