should g8tor20 part out his car
I voted for he should waste his money or something stupid like that, but honestly I think he should just get his blower fixed. The power is GREAT and the car is a blast to drive.
I also think he should get the exhaust bracket fixed and then go back to stock ride height. From there he'll have one of the nicest cars in the club.

IMO I think you are regreting spending so much on your car. I think you spent too much too fast on modding your car. Just slow up a little and go from a budget instead of spending all disposible income on the car. Dont know if this is you exact situation but looking from the outside in this is what I have noticed. Let me know if you disagree.
Thanks

Your car is done.... few minor things and its done. Just because you have a little rattle you want to part out your mods. and lose even more money selling the parts. IMO doesnt make much sense. To me the sensible thing to do is fix the rattles and enjoy having one of the nicest cars in the club.

Its more about the headaches involved. So many little things have made stuff inconvenient. Its my daily driver and I dont trust anyone in ocala to touch my car. I end up having to drive all over the place multiple times to fix these things. And now..to fix the rattle and retune...I'm looking at another $600 minimum. Just that notion about throwing good money after bad. And on top of that...driving FI, while fun, isn't truly enjoyable b/c you always worry about "what if". I've been glued to my EGT problem since day 1. Always worried about getting it close to redline and the fuel pumps and return system. Just more money needed to go to make this run safer. I've never done anything half-assed and I refuse to start with this car. So...I'm looking at throwing more money into this pit or get out now and enjoy the car without headaches.
This decision kills me guys. Its not like I woke up and thought of it. I've thought about the pros and cons every day. And I mean everyday. The rattles from the exhaust and blower remind me to think about it

I love my car, but refuse to get into the same hole that todd, jorge, alan, jason and the rest of the bunch get into. Its not about the money but its about sense. Hobbies are supposed to be fun...not headaches. And in the end...I can always invest more money into property and be better off in the end.
I would love to be shortsighted and just enjoy what I have but reality is I should be more rational.
I do agree with you that I am almost there. Just a few hundred more bucks and I'm there. It would suck to come this far and part out.
Problems are:
1. Lower the car, it handles worse.
2. Lower the car, the camber is worse.
3. Pay for camber arms and toe bolts and a-arms, alignment is 'better' but car still doesn't handle as well as stock.
4. S/C makes putting power to the ground difficult.
5. The car isn't designed for 400rwhp.
6. VDC on, you can only go 1/2 throttle.
7. VDC off, you fish tail all over the place.
Then you come to the realization that you have $15K plus into a semi-fast car that handles worse than stock. You can try to spend more money and fix the handling, sways maybe... but that might not work.
Then there's the rattle1 and rattle2 problems. Couple that with a bad paint job... It just gets to a point where it's too much to handle on a daily driver.
I totally understand Jason's decision and for us to say whether we think it's right or not isn't fair unless you're in his shoes. IMO, he should do whatever he wants. I just wish that after going so far, he'd take the extra step and get his car to the 100% mark and see how he likes it. Maybe get the blower fixed, get the exhaust fixed and work on that paint job. Just my 2 cents again.

I can understand the frustration I dealing with the same things and im just starting on modding my G. I agree every dollar you spend on your car is tech. a wasted dollar that you cant use for something else but your going to have headaches where ever you spend your money. My parents are into investment property i see what they have to deal with all the time. Its not pretty. I say you are so close to finishing your car that you finish it enjoy it and try not to worry about it. Then put your money into something that makes money for you like investment property.
