A lap and a half at Sebring

I don't have quicktime pro so I can't cut down my video of my 4 laps with other novices when I don't look like I am getting passed by everyone on track You must signal a pass and the lift to let the overtaking car easily pass you before the next corner.

My best lap that I taped was 3 minutes 2 seconds...which averages to 73 mph. The three straights you hit about 100, and on the longest straight I topped at around 110. I may could just buy the pro version...but I am sure you get the idea. In that video I caught to novices like my self in S2000's and a previous version M3. But of course, I should not be keeping up with experienced drivers faster track cars anyway.

My next link will be with camera pointed toward me while driving. Just another fun day at Sebring...my second time

My buddy was out there this weekend with his Red T67 Supra. Did you have fun? I haven't talked to my buddy yet. Hopefully his car was running good like yours. Glad you had fun with Chin Motorsports. They are a good group.

Wow, that's really cool!!! It looks like you had a great time. It sounds like you really have your "heel and toeing" down pat... Sounded really good going around the hairpin.

Was that your camera? It seemed like it was attached to your dashboard or something. It didn't move much. Great video.

Don't miss the thread about the Tampa/St.Pete/Clearwater Mini-Meet this Saturday in Tampa. Hope you can make it.

I am not sure if my wife and I have plans Saturday night....I'll ask her today. The camera was my Nikon Coolpix 4200. It is a point and shoot digital camera. I made a wooden camera mount with triangular sides that had the same slope as the windshield. I used heavy grade velco to attach it to the windshield. I will link the pictures from photobucket when I get home from work. I had a BLAST again. I pitted during my last session due to some weird vibration I was feeling...rubber marbles my tires had picked up from the track. That was a bit scary at first until I figured out I the vibration was from. In the end I logged about 135 miles on the race track. I wish I could edit my other video down to two flying laps.

The red Supra looked sweet...along with the Viper, Corvettes, 911's, spec-racer miatas(which kicked just about everybodies butts), couple of full on race cars, lotuses....

How expensive is it to run? Where in Florida is it? If it costs lots of $ you can PM me or something if you dont want to post it.

It was about 270-280 for the day and an extra 65.00 for the instructor. It sounds a bit expensive, but I logged about 135 miles for the day. One bad ticket doing something stupid would be alot more than that.

I'm always happy to see a G being put to use where it belongs, at the track I have been thinking about joining Chin Motorsports as well. I know a few people who are members and they have nothing but good things to say about the events. I got hooked last month at Homestead. I'd love to go back, the feeling is undescribable. How many times have you gone so far? And how many track days do you need for them to let you on the track on your own? I think it was 5 or something.

Greats pictures and vids, thank you for sharing!

This was my second time at Sebring. My instructor was very pleased with my performance....especially since it was only my second time. At the end of the day he told me he did not see any reason why I could not be out on the track alone. That felt really good to hear. So far though, my instructors have been great, and I don't think it would be as much fun driving alone just yet. It is definitely very addicting, much to my wifes dismay

I don't think there is an event limit...just need to graded highly enough and pass the provision solo test. But I am not really sure on that.

I come from a motorcyle racing background and since I hit my marks(apexis, breaking point, demonstrated threshold breaking) they only made me do two laps with one of the instructors. As long as you don't get in anyones way they will let you out by yourself very quickly. If your instructor is happy with your driving then I'm sure you're "good to go".
