thoughts and opinions on 5at goin turbo

hey guys I was just searching this forum and all i hear is this and that about g's going FI (turbo) wit a 5AT and how you shouldn't. Everything i hear is having to do with how its gonna be "unsafe." I mean isn't all FI "unsafe" for any type of tranny? I just want some honest responses to my post. If turbonetics made a 5AT kit then it cant be unrealiable? I know that turbos can give more stress to your tranny because of all the torque. Any opinions or thoughts that come to mind or even suggestions will be helpful. I'm just trying to save a bunch of money and make a wise choice at the moment. I was thinking of goin with a project car but.... i'm in love with me 04.5 5AT g35. I guess the real question i'm asking is... is it really worth going FI wit a auto tranny for the G? I've talked to many ppl about this topic and we never really get to the bottom line. If i built up other components wit a vb wont it be just as reliable as anything else out there? Thanks for any posts that are written.

Within that search you should have read that the addition of a tranny cooler, VB upgrade and possibly a higher stall torque converter will make everything happy.

I have a 5AT as well. Keep the power levels under 380hp and yout trans and motor should live... for a while.

you should be fine with a conservative tune.our trannys are the same as the q45 and titan truck,it should hold up well.i would get a vb and torque converter when the extra cash allows it.

Do the minor mods to help the 5AT cope and you should happy. IMO, it's very hard to beat the feeling of an auto trans. in a high-HP, turbo application. The forward rush, with no preceptible break in thrust, can really put a grin on your face. Just punch it and go... ...feathering back on the throttle slightly as you feel any loss of traction... ...or not.

I am currently looking at going FI or supercharged but am still on the fence on this one. I don't have the exact thread but on either my350 or 350zmotoring site, there was a guy that recently just put the 5at turbonetics kit on his 350z and it is running extremely well for him. This has kind of got me leaning towards this company's prodcut.
