3rd belt snap but 1st in this location
I can't believe this. I maybe have put 1000 miles on this car since the SC went on and I went to show my friends neighbor and I opened the hood and the 4 rib belt to the SC was shredded and only 2 ribs were left. I pulled it off and put the new one on. This was the first time that this belt broke but it is the 3rd new belt that I have had to put on since this SC has been on. This morning I started the car and got an instant squeak out of a belt. I'm not sure, but maybe I need to tighten up this new belt.
Weird, I didn't lose any belts during the 7500 miles I had the Stillen. Is your idle tensioner pulley on the supercharger black or silver? I know someone with a black one and shreds belts too.

This is a common problem associated with these SC's unfortunately. I have been known to go through a couple belts in one track day.... all's you can do is make sure the pullies are lined up good (use a shim kit if you have to), be sure not to over-tighten the belts, and keep a stock of about 3-5 belts with you at all times (along with the tools to change it.....Hahaha....LOL
man i feel bad for you,in the over 20,000 miles with this kit.i have only had to replace the 6 rib and 4 rib belts just once.but i did have to retighten the rerouted p/s belt 3 times.stillen does have a shim kit for these problems, call and ask for sam and descibe all the belt problems, hell figure it out for you.good luck.

Consider that the sc draws [parasitic loss] around 20-25 HorsePower and this gets transmitted thru the belt vs say 5 HP for the AC belt or alternator or PS.
In theory the belt should be twice as wide to get oem type longevity.
When these type superchargers/belts were used on GM V6 the redline and HP peaks occurred at much much lower rpms.
Consider a redesign if you want belt reliability out to 30,000 miles or limit rpm.
