ALL FI without Valve Body Upgeade Report Here

I am gathering statistics on how far the stock 5AT transmission could go with FI & try to factor in some variables. I am evaluating a HKS SC, with a flat torque of ~300, from 3800 to 5400 rpm. I am afraid this will break 5AT transmission on my AWD G35x. I have a Grounding gear, the shift is fast & crisp. I will add a transmission cooler. It's VB upgrade I am debating my self about.

So, let's hear it. If you are running FI without VB upgrade.

Please describe your:

1, FI Type, as well as Model of car & If it's 5At 0r 6MT
2, whp/torque
3, How many miles running without VB upgrade
4, Do you have Grounding Gear installed?
5, Did you add a transmission cooler?

Do you have VB now? How many miles before & after VB upgrade?
Finallly, please describe any problems you had with transmission.
Your impression before & after VB.

Thanks

1, Vortech Supercharger, G35 Sedan
2, before 390 whp / 410 tq, now I don't know yet
3, only about a thousand
4, No
5, Yes

No real problems before, just wouldn't shift fast enough, now it shifts really hard. Quite uncomfortable I might add.

I have had the Vortech for about six months now.380 to the wheels.I have my own 12 wire grounding kit.I do have a tranny cooler, that has been on for over 2 years.I have no problem with the tranny. The only time the tranny shifts funny is if you floor it and let it shift by itself.Unless you track or race the car or just flat out drive like a nut, your tranny will be ok.

My set up is below (5AT).... no VB done on mine and it shifts just fine even at WOT it shifts right at redline with no bounce off... I am looking into a Torque Converter instead of the VB upgrade...

thanks, now i dont have to waste 130 dollars on the wires.

one other question, if u get a tq converter set at 2800rpm does that mean your idles is also at 2800 rpm and u are bascially always breaking lose even if u're not planning on launching?

I can just imagine me at the red light next to a cop and once it turns green, i'm cirping my tires at the cop bc the tq converter

I think the tranny slipped. did u make consistant 400 lbs tq when u dyno the car? Also, I would love to see the dyno sheet on that one.

1. G35x - vortech 5AT
2. 310 whp, 266 ft lb tq
3. ~1000 miles (hard) b4 the tranny blew
4. Yes
5. Yes

Possible that I beat the crap out of the tranny until it dumped. VB/TC upgrade and a slightly used 5AT from a wreck. ~ 3000 mles and I'm good.
