SC G35 vs Turbo VW VR6
It also depends on where the power comes in at. You can make 400whp with a lot of lag and still loose to a lower power car that makes boost faster.
Take a TT G vs ST G. The ST G can make 50+whp more and still loose because the TT's powerband is so much smoother.
It would be a case by case thing but so many people just look at peak numbers and forget about everything else.

Find someone who has a modded car...Let have some fun.
We can always go to Willow Springs this Sunday, or Calispeedway next Weekend and find out how a G35 can stand-up.
The G is heavy...For Sure. Yet very nice and confortable. Power to weight, those cars are pretty cool that is for sure.
We are game for any roadrace time/trial challenge whether we win or lose.
All fun at any rate.

There is not enough information on the configuration of the VW. In it's stock form the SC G will win. Like the others are saying it's relatively easy to get a lot out of that model and if you up the boost the story can be completely different.
SC G vs. the STi, I'd put my money on the G.
