SC G35 vs Turbo VW VR6

Who would win in a race? An automatic supercharged G35 pushing 350rwhp or a Volkswagen GTI VR6 turbocharged? And also, could the SC G35 take a stock STI?

I took out a modifed STi so I can answer that but never raced a VR6. Also when racing the STi make sure you have the rpms high enough to build boost as the first guy I raced went from a speed he was building boost and I wasn't and the second guy went from a speed I like and I killed him.....40mph in second is the best, 50 in 3rd is not good.

This is when I had the Vortech installed

I had a turbocharged VR6... those things can be pretty ridiculously fast... little driveline loss and relatively light. Their weakness is hooking up in 1st and 2nd gear. Beware of a race from a roll...

I haven't been in a supercharged G, my engine is stock. I do still have my 2001 VR6 turbo though, and it is pretty fast. I couldn't imagine a FI G being much faster if at all.

Are you serious? "www.ViolentRacing.com Track & Dyno Proven, Daily Driven 400-760+ whp., 400-800+ LB/FT Torque Z's, G's & Fx's"

So a VR6 Turbo takes out Ferraris, Corvettes, Porsches, etc?

You obviously haven't heard of the HPA VR6- it slaughtered a bunch of exotics in the Supercar Challenge...

I never said it wasn't fast but FI VR6 vs. FI G Coupe... My money is on the Coupe.

I'd like to see that race on video at a track.

The VR6s can easily be pushed to the 400 whp range with just a headgasket swap. With the weight advantage, that's equivalent to a ~500 whp G35.

That's not exactly a VR6. That's the R32. But I agree, that thing;s the $hit!
I still would not put it up vs VRT's silver G coupe.

I have taken on a STi that makes about the same whp as me ~340 and it was a good race but I won 4 out of 5 times. As for the VR6 I think it all depends on the situation tune of each. The VR6 could take the G or the other way around. I would still rather drive a G over a VW.

I think the G would have the upper hand.

Great stats on paper - why is the body shape soooo bad?

What a waste of good internals...

Well a sc does not have enough torgue compared to a lightweight...Now a turbo charged g is a different story.

A supercharged G stands little chance against a Turbo Vr6. I'm just speaking out of empirical knowledge. I had a fully modified 24v (2002+) Vr6 and was just about to put a turbo on it before it got wrecked. Most of the stage 1 turbo kits available were making in the 400whp range with similar torque. And he's got about a 400lbs weight advantage on you. I wouldn't run him unless you have at least 500whp.
