Re: ati tuned, results inside...

I was at www.kennedysdynotune.com recently and they had just finished tuning a coupe with an ATI installed by the dealer. It had no other mods except for the procharger. He was seeing 8psi. i am guessing that with your Borla, plenum, and Cats upgrades, you are seeing much better flow, hence the lower psi.

not to say there may not be other issues, becasue I saw a look at the dyno runs after tuning and it was putting out closer to 360 to the wheels.

Bob Kennedy really knows his stuff. Not that your tuners don't. He was very impressed with the end results. but he did agree that the lack of a true filter on the intake of the supercharger could lead to some issues down the road.

Just trying to help, not trying to rain on your parade:-)

Re: ati tuned, results inside...

no problem, there are other G35C ATIs making ~343hp
already (6mt). 360 would be the highest seem so far
for a g35c ati. 8psi seems a little odd since ati advertises
6-7 psi. Maybe they were using the 9psi pulley instead.

Please post if you have more info...
thanks,
rob

How much "chopping" did you have to do to install your ATI? I installed an ATI on a friends Camaro SS, and we had to relocate air pumps, horn, and chop up the air damn, drill into the body, drop stock fans and install ati fans, etc....overall a real PITA. I told myself I wouldn't chop up my camaro ss(before I traded it in). and I definetly don't want to chop up my "g" .

I think he was only seeing 8 psi because he had all other stock equipment for the outflow and he was not flowing nearly as well as you are. That was Bob's explanation for seeing 8psi vs. the 5-7 most other people see.

Need4Speed,

I knwo the last piece of the puzzle that oyu are missing!. A tuned and reworked torque converter to get you in the HIGH 300's . Not kidding.

Our auto trannys have about 17% loss. Imagine putting in a torque converter that will give you back 13 of those percentage points and put your final loss at about 3.5-4%.

I am working on that now. Will keep you posted all!

Gurgen

Re: ati tuned, results inside...

yah, but we did a bunch of dynos. he only printed
the last one (after 15 minute cool done). some were
higher and some were lower but I asked to have it
really rich.

also, I know I'm getting more power now with the new intake
because I'm getting more boost (also better throughout rpms
with and without boost).

and I've got another upgrade idea in progress! waiting on parts
now... In the meantime, I put in a lean warning buzzer. It
goes off when I'm under boost and O2 sensor is <.7v.
Originally, I was going to have it cut throttle or dump boost
but decided against it (didn't want sudden changes happening
under me when I might be in a sensitive position)...

keep an eye on that Vortech supercharger kit for the G35!
