Rod bolts with too much boost, yes...bad tunes and melting piston tops, yes...breaking rods...find another shop or learn how to drive and shift...

Vortech's are REALLY safe if the OWNER doesn't mess it up...

I fill up 1/2 with 101 and 1/2 with 91 on every tank which averages to 96... I am going to get retuned for 91 oct and 96 oct so I can switch between the 2... I will always put at least a couple of gallons of 101 in even when running the 91 tune just to be safe tho... I have over 12K miles on my Vortech now and NOT ONE problem to speak of so far... I just can't keep my foot off the frickn gas... I have hit 9.8 PSI on more than one occasion in the past couple of weeks and am averaging 9.3 PSI...

I am looking into the 4.2 conversion pretty soon so my bottom end will be getting an upgrade soon...

I'll try to find my AFR chart... I know its around somewhere.

Yes its true Turbos break rods from the higher output of TQ but its the same rods none the less and under major load they will give I dont car how prefectly tuned the car is.

Tunning is 99.9% of most problems, then its weak parts and what not. Driving does count too but if you keep launching like its a damn drag car a stock car wont last you long either.
