Vortech Supercharger

Of course, this is for the Z too, but know-how/money can get this under our hoods too...

412HP and 355 Lb-Ft of torque...Fuel system upgraded with high-flow fuel pump and management...Stand-alone ignition timing computer...Oil feed and drain assemblies for cooling and lubricating...High-flow air filter (reusable)...Compatible with OBD-II, and has a 3-year warranty (possible the most attractive feature after the HP and torque gains...

No one posted this, so I figured I'd help with the heads-up...

Re: Vortech Supercharger

I believe what the news is about the intercooler is this. Vortech, who usually uses air-to-water intercoolers, has used the same intercooler as ATI (air-to-air). They say they did this to cut costs as the engine bay in the Z/G is quite small and would require alot of modifications. Again this is straight from one of the guys at ATI...from what I remember. Hope this helps....

Re: Vortech Supercharger

Bought is correct...I like the warranty too...Thinking this might be more attractive than the ATI, but I like their equipment as well...

Re: Vortech Supercharger

Some other potentially attractive feature of the Vortech vs. ATI.
a) the Vortech SQ unit is probalby quieter , especially at idle and low RPM
b) the ATI head unit sits very far forward which forced ATI to ditch any pre-SC Air filter. Instead they put it after the IC and this is proven to rob psi and hence power. The vortech unit , sits further back , so it will most likely be easier to retro-fit a pre-SC Air filter with some simple plumbing onn the G35.
c) the kit uncludes a timing controller which makes protection against detonation and damage eaiser to control. A "great" safety measure for out of the box operation.
d) Current prices $4,749.00 for Vortech, $5,449.00 for ATI.
Use thes aved $700 towards the injector and ECU upgrades.
e) Vortech is aggressivley seeking CARB exemption.

I can't wait til someone adds bigger injector and get TS etc to re-tune the ECU for this setup. Then you can ditch the FMU and the external timing controller.

IMHO
