GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

$5580 if we get 20. Let me know if you would like to put your name on the list. Putting your name on the list just lets me know if we can play ball. It will not be a formal contract. When we get to 15 or so, then we'll start talking how to get the money and such.

Cheers, Ted

Re: GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

20 is quite a few...That's asking a lot of people to put faith in a product on a site with dead links and a computer-generated picture only (last I checked)...That, and putting faith in a new company that hasn't finished their product yet...

Re: GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

looking at finding the 20 people that are interested in actually pursuing the matter, not putting there money down. I have about 10 questions still outstanding with them...and nothing would get bolted on my G without that stuff being answered.... the questions range from how much HP at the wheels to real pictures, as well as extended warranties...

I'll post more info as i receive it, I just want to know who is interested.

Well, I'd be interested, but it'll probably be 3 years before my wallet can back me up. So, count me as a "No."

Re: GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

Hey, Ted-

Why haven't they posted any pics of even the prototype? If you are in contact with them you may want to recommend they at least posted some decent pics (one with the Z outfitted, one closeup of the charger)...I mean, just a thought...I think that just the CG image on a site with dead links is making more than just me question the company...Just a suggestion- a picture truly does speak a thousand words...

Re: GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

i like what i see and would probably go with it. but, we need to see a finish product along with some dyno numbers. i don't see you getting many people until those things are met. but, if you just need numbers for interest than i understand. i'm stuck between dream workes and vortech. we'll have to see.

Re: GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

I agree with all that...they were jsut responding with pricing and group buy info from my Wed email. I responded with my other questions this weekend, but don't expect them to read it until monday post-coffee fix.

I am as excited and concerned as everyone else...believe me that I will not part with any $$ until i can get my questions answered...

Re: GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

Just received a response from Dreamworkes....:

The warranty is a powertrain warranty. I believe that you can buy an extended warranty as an option. I am not sure what the extra cost would be.

The cost per kit will be $5,580 and they will get FREE SHIPPING! Delivery is expected to be Jan 2004. The estimated whp is 330. We are trying to get more and still be CARB certified. This is what is taking us so long on getting the kit to market. We want our customers to have the best possible product with the most possible HP for their money! We will not sell a product that we do not 110% believe that it is as perfect as possible. I did not take any more PICS of the kit, once I get the car back from independent testing, I will takes some PICS.

I will need you name, address, and telephone number so I can set you up as a group buy organizer.

Thanks
Goran

330 WHP doesn't really seem worth it to me...Just my opinion...Damn CARB Legal status...

Re: GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

This is going to be a great supercharger, lots of talk about it on the 350boards (where the real enthusiasts are).. This 'charger might even be sold/installed/warranted through infiniti/nissan ... i'ts an awesome design.

Re: GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

So the only REAL enthusiasts are on the 350Z board? Okay...

Re: GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

Just wondering if this board isn't considered to be an enthusiast forum by you or the 350Z board members- not aggressively at all, just wondering...I really don't care, as I love the 350Z...And my horse isn't any higher than it has been since I got here

I really wish we had some photos of this supercharger and the ride that it's currently installed on...Hard to put my faith in a product I can't get a picture of, other than a CG image...I personally plan on going with twin turbochargers, but I enjoy keeping up with all the mods for the Z and G

Re: GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

I agree with the design guy. It looks like ATI is working out the bugs in their system. And for 1000.00 less. Yes I know we are paying the extra for the "roots" style blower and warranty versus the centrifugal ATI but a grand is a grand.

Still gonna be just under a year before I cast my vote with my checkbook, so keep looking for more people. I personally think if you all wait a few months, you will find much better pricing once the TT, single T and N/A apps start hitting the streets and offering comparable horsepower.

Re: GROUP BUY: Dreamworkes Supercharger

It was just a decision that I derived at.. After going on both types of boards on a regular basis, the 350 owners (my opinion) seem to want to goto the limits to see what our motors can handle... that I consider a real enthusiast... and that is my opinion

here you all want to see pictures of superchargers... pictures? this isn't a spoiler, this is a device that sits on our motor to generate more power. blue print/cad designs and specs is all i'd be happy with at this point. and yes, they do exist... I have more faith in this supercharger than the ATI one, and if you're going to boost a motor that was never designed to be boosted then you better do it right!
