Man, I really want to follow your lead and do this myself too. More pictures of the whole process would be even nicer...

Thanks!

Ahntuan, can you build up my motor for me?

Congrats on the build again. I knew you quite skillfull when I first met you but I didn't know you were that mechanically inclined to rip out your own engine, build it up and put everything back together.

Congrats! How is the car running now? What did you dyno at Jeremy's shop? How much boost you running?

A few more pics, everything is running good now. I fixed any oil leaks I had, and I'm waiting on a set of test pipes and a connector for my Greddy e-01 so I can turn up the boost. I didn't get a good dyno run at Jeremy's because of the oil leak, so I'll be back there soon enough..... I think Jeremy's craziness rubbed off on me Its not that hard to put together all this stuff anyways...... I say everyone build their motors on their own!!

BEFORE/AFTER
I kinda like before better, but my old one got mess up, so I had this laying around.....

No more BOV here...

No more bling bling under my hood...

Blitz BOV is hidden in here...

My single exhaust that was supposed to be for my TN kit... oh well, keeping it for now...

AND yes you can keep your brace with Greddy's!! Kinda..

Cosworth/Cometic 96mm hg
Crank balanced and polished
Gasket overhaul kit
05 water and oil pumps

Total cost of build under 3500 including longblock core and machine shop labor, saved quite a bit by having a local machine shop bore and hone and assembling the longblock myself. I think fully assembled longblocks go for avg. 5-6k + core 2k...

And... ANYONE can do this with a service manual and the right tools.... took me about 1 week working on and off maybe a couple hours each night, and I'm slow, and don't have much skills....

Now I wan't to build my own...lol

was this a RevUp longblock that you rebuilt?

How much of the brace did you have to cut out to fit the IC? I was going to have a new one made but if it would be easier to modify the existing one, maybe I'll just do that.

Not much at all, about a half inch to inch by ~3 inch notch on each side of the brace that doesn't even touch the top or front of the brace, and some cut off the brace support bracket on the passenger side. Imo, not too much strength has been compromised....
