Vortech SC or Stillen SC? Which one and why?
Well guys time and is nearing and in about 1-2 months I will be going FI. The problem is I get the Vortech or Stillen. Facts and opinions from expereinced FI G/Z owners please.
i've done my share of research both are great systems but i'd go with the vortec... the BOV sounds clean, stillen doesnt even have one, and the noise level isnt nearly the same as the stillen... the whine coming off the stillen is too much for me but thats IMO.... either way u cant go wrong when ur going FI...

Vortech and Stillen are both, not guna knock the stillen. But you will love the HP up top. Ive had my vortech for 2 weeks now and love it. Getting it tuned next week and will send my ecu off to get the idle raised. later im also planning on getting the 3.12 and upgrading the FMU discs. Go with the one you really want and you wont have any regrets.
Stillen is a better low and mid range kit for street driving. I had a stillen for a while and have driven a Vortech. Both are great kits you just need to decide do you want most of your power from 1500k-5000k or most of it from 4000k-redline?

If you have done your research you would know that you can't put a BOV on a roots-style blower. There is no charged air to evacuate when you go throttle.
The sound of the stillen is awesome, I miss that sound. The vortech sounds more like a single turbo.
Also remember that the vortech has idle noise that bothers some people.

probably the best part of buying a stillen supercharger. Im going with stillen because I like the low end power.
stillen won't actually honor the warrenty unless they do the install, otherwise they'll just say the kit wasn't installed right or the engine was faulty and to take it up with the dealership - who will say to take it up with stillen
as far as "lag" goes, neither have it any since there's no delay between the gas pedal and the blowers producing some amount of positive boost. The vortech won't give much power down low though unless you get extreme with it or get a shorter final drive and lighter flywheel so you naturally drive in the upper rpms.
For instance on my Vortech setup, my idle is 1300 rpms, and I daily drive between 2000-3500 rpms (usually in the 2500-3300 rpm range). Stepping on the gas rockets the rpms up so fast anyway I don't care if I'm only making 4.5 psi at 3500 rpms while a TT setup makes 7 psi at the same rpm. Running shorter gearing speeds you up faster into the high rpms to negate some of that difference
IMO don't get the vortech if you're just going to leave the stock kit on the car making 340whp or whatever. You'll barely notice it and will mainly make a noticeable difference when you're actually racing to redline. The stillen stage 2-4 is the more powerful kit out of the box, and will be much more noticable than the base vortech. If you upgrade the vortech's pulley and breathing some though, it'll demolish the stillen in a race and still give you some good noticable oomph fairly low

Stillen maybe if you like to drag race, but Vortech for mountains or road course.

Not another one of these threads. Do a search man...this question is asked with frightening regularity. About once a week now. You'll find answers to all your questions. If you actually do that and still have questions, then post a thread...
