FI Oil Consumption

For you guys who are boosted, do you find yourself topping off the oil between changes? I checked my oil today and saw I was half way between the high and low mark. This never happen before I added the stillen kit. I know FI applications tend to use more oil, just curious to see what others are experiencing and how often you guys have to top off.

Mine stays right between L & H. I change the oil myself. I've added once in 10,000 miles.

With my Stillen kit I would burn ~1qt every 3k and now with the Greddy I burn a little more.

I just checked my oil level today and am about halfway between L and H. I have about 2300 miles since my last oil change.

You should invest in a oil pan spacer for extra safety and I think burning is normal. The amount may vary. What weight oil are you using?

I added a spacer within the first two weeks of getting my G. Now with the spacer and greddy pan my car takes ~6.5qts which is nice for peace of mind in case I do go 0.5-1qt low, there is still enough in there.

I'm using a 5w40, full synthetic. I didn't think that a spacer was really necessary since I'm not pushing that much hp w/ the stillen kit.

Does anyone know, when you fill the engine w/ 5 qts, where does that reflect on the dipstick? Is it at the full line?

It's actually been said you should go up a weight when you turbo your car. That much I've heard/know. Other than that, don't ask me anything if it's related to f/i. I'm still learning.

I didn't have any problems with burning oil when I was N/A, nor on the VQ in my Max. I've only had 1 oil change since F/I, so I'll have to keep an eye on it now. I'm also running Amsoil syn, and have stuck with the same 5w-30 I used before. Still unsure about whether I should go w/something thicker though.

I switched to 5w-40 when I went FI. When I get my first oil change, I'm definately going to get an oil analysis done just to see how things are running.
