my main belt is skweaking like no other, took it off. re-tensioned the belts. and it just shouts at me. at idle its sometimes worse but as i speed up it just gets even louder, used belt dressing, and all else i could think of....pulleys are all alligned and everything seems fine........when i redress it, it shut up, but only for a moment then it starts again........now to the incident that started it. my brother sprayed the belt with a vintage belt dressing that he had laying around since he was born i think, but even then, seems like theres a sticky texture to the the belt. should i just replace the belt and clean the pulleys??? thanks

Are you uning the 6 rib Gates/Napa belt or the crapy Gatorback? Get the Napa.

I loosened the idler pulley as far is it would go and squeezed the shorter 93 belt on with the stock pulley.....and never adjusted it in over 1 1/2 yrs!

 

crappy gator back. i think ill be going with the napa

 

Some people realy dont know how tight the serp belt has to be not to slip and squeal . Tighten up the belt more !
