Just installed the HKS ignition amplifier

Well it was real easy to install the unit except getting the connectors off the coil packs.I only had to drill one hole for mounting the unit and run the wiring harness behind the blower which was easy.Reconnected the original connectors to the HKS unit then connected the harness to the coil packs. Then one ground wire and that was it.
The car idles much smoother now and it picked up about 100 rpm.Throttle responce is much crisper and it seems to me at least that the supercharger is more responsive then it was before. Now i just hope the gas mileage picks up.

Will this increase spark plug longevity? What prompted you to purchase this?

a friend of mine on my350z,he has a twin turbo z and told me how it helped him.actually i dont know if it will help with plug life but it gives one hell of a hotter spark so it should burn the fuel more efficiently.im hoping for better gas mileage as a bonus but not counting on it.

Saw the HKS at AAM. How much did you pay? Plug & play from what I understand.

You can. It allows you to run wider gaps. Supposively, you'll experience better gas milage by running wider gaps. Been sitting on the fence w/ this for a little while. Not sure if my stage 2 would benefit in power, but responsiveness and additional gas mileage would definately help.

Haven't tried the HKS, but had an MSD in my other car. Best $300 I ever spent on a mod. I'm certain the HKS is very effective.

Any additional impressions? Is it worth the $500?

I just discovered this part while thumbing through the latest Stillen catalog. Didn't realize it was so pricey. Are there any other options (brands) of ignition amplifiers for the Z/G?

I have the Sun kit that does the same thing. Noticed a little improvement but for the price I would not buy it again.
