I've seen the harness wrapped around the front and wrapped around the rear so side to side should not matter. Just go by length which ever direction you lay the harness.

Yes Iridium plugs can be regapped. Even though they supposedly come pregapped it's not a bad idea to check them all to make sure they are consistent.
