Batmobile Goes Under The Knife
its been a couple months worth of planning and buying parts but I'm finally going FI on Saturday.
I chose the vortech supercharger for the rev-up motor for various reasons which I can debate with anyone who chooses to in a separate thread. I'd like to keep this strictly about the install, pics and before and after performance
opinions are welcome (good and bad) as well as suggestions from knowledgeable FI members here
so I guess I'll begin with a list of supporting mods...
- Walbro 255LPH fuel pump (in tank)
- Power Enterprise high capacity oil pan (tapping upper oil pan for return)
- B&M oil cooler
- Magnetic drain plug for oil pan
- Fuel pressure regulator w/gauge
- emanage ultimate with plug and play harness (its a "for now" solution. will be changing it later on)
- Kinetix SSV manifold
- XO2 true dual exhaust
- NGK 1 step colder spark plugs
- ARC radiator cap
- PTE 550cc fuel injectors
here is the list of upgrades for the vortech kit
- GTM machined 2.62" serpentine pulley
- 928 Motorsports V+ impeller
- 928 Motorsports boost limiter valve
- TurboXS RFL blow off valve ( I know that SCs use a bypass valve but I've seen SC'd cars with BOVs and the shop has done the install before on vortechs)
Ben0878 & I will be installing the kit over the weekend and Matt @ DSG will be doing the tuning for me on Monday the 13th. Matt tuned my car back in November and got me a +42whp increase on a Dyno Dynamics with only the SSV manifold and test pipes for engine mods at the time. He said the car would have made more power but he ran out of injector
here are a couple shots of my engine bay now...
here are pics of the boost limiter valve and impeller from 928 Motorsports...
here is the RFL BOV from TurboXS...
stay tuned for updates thru the weekend with pics during the install and possibly a video of the car on the dyno Monday as well as my dyno sheet when its all said and done

Thanks. I wanted to do this because there doesn't seem to be a writeup or documented install of the vortech on anything but non-revup engines. My kit is for the revup so if there are any minor or major differences I'll be able to outline them in my install and hopefully help someone else with a revup kit avoid any snags in the future

I figured a thread like this would be interesting to some since I'm using a different impeller and the smaller 2.62" pulley on my kit instead of the stock impeller and the 2.87" or the 3.12"

I'll be safe with it. I can't wait to show it off on the 25th!
