actually now is the time to dump your stock clutch . since they have to replace the flywheel etc anyhow, might as well get free labor on that.

i'd at least ask. my clutch took a dump on me the 1st time to the track and you'll be running alot more HP/trq

thanks for the advice but I've been on a stage 2 southbend clutch and lightweight flywheel with stainless clutch line since the week after I bought the car last May. My clutch is rated for 480tq so its perfect for the vortech install.

Next clutch and flywheel combo I'll probably end up with is the Competition Clutch stage 2 or 3 depending on my HP numbers next year after my motor build and boost is raised to 20psi

yeah count your lucky stars you don't have oil consumption problems!

I drove from Boston to NYC last night so thats how I got the miles up there so quick

I figure the faster I get these thousand miles logged and the engine labeled a OC motor the faster we can continue with the fun part of this thread

Thanks for the compliment...

I'm dying to see what kind of numbers i put down with my new impeller, 2.62 pulley and meth injection. i just know its going to be a beast but actual dyno numbers make it that much sweeter

ok people here's another tiny update...

I'm about 150 miles short of the 1k miles I have to drive for the dealer to check my oil consumption.

I figure we'll be looking at early to mid June for vortech installation so I have time to get the new motor and have it installed and complete the break in period before putting the blower and my engine mods back on (SSV manifold etc)

vortech install date is tentatively set for June 16th at Ballistic Motorsports in NH

tuning will be done by Giles and is set for the afternoon of the 20th

same people doing my install and tune are currently working on Hi-Tech_G's engine build and FI setup

so I took the car back after the 1000 mile check and its not consuming oil according to the head tech over there. Asked him about the rattling when the oil was low he said it was the timing chain making the noise which is why I haven't heard it since they got the oil back up to spec

So we're back on for the install part of this thread!

Vortech is scheduled to be installed on June16th-June20th at Ballisitic Motorsports in NH. Tune appointment is for the 20th as well so I get the car back all set to go

I'll post pics of the kit as soon as I'm done cleaning and polishing it all up

That's awesome dude! So why was your oil low to begin with though? This still sounds like there was some sort of problem either either with the oil level or with the timing chain.
