oil was on the low side due to me doing some rather "spirited" driving for awhile and I was due for an oil change anyway.

Talked to the shop earlier today that will be doing my install and everything is all set for the 16th of June.

I'm so excited now that this is finally back on track and will be moving forward in the next several weeks

that's good to hear. Why not move your appointments up a month since u don't have to replace your motor.

I setup my install date based on my tuning appointment. THe earliest tuning appointment I could get with the tuner is June 20th in the afternoon. He's booked solid up until that time. I'm giving the shop 4 days to do the install and make sure there's no screw ups. THe tuner operates from the shop next door so its a convenience thing. They can install my vortech and roll it next door and tune it without having to go anywhere

So maybe I missed it in another thread, but what internal engine mods have you done to support the 2.67 pulley? Or are you just going to stay with low boost?

I'm on a stock block for the rest of this year. I have the vortech kit setup with a boost limiter valve that will allow the system to bleed off the excess boost beyond whatever I set it to. I plan on running around 8-10psi on the stock block. I know the kit in its current configuration will produce upwards of 15psi so its got alot to bleed off but its less money I have to spend on upgrading the kit next year when the stroker motor is done

I know my thread has been on hold for the better part of a month and I apologize to all of you that were following closely

as it stands right now everything is fine with my motor. I didn't have consumption problems or any damage to the motor. Vortech install is still tentatively scheduled for June 16th at ballistic Motorsports and tuned by Giles at HolleyRoller Dyno.

I was at Scott's shop last night going over some of the details for this install and he and Giles both are extremely confident that the car will make somehwere in the neighborhood of 440whp with the mods I have and the add on components I chose for the install including alcohol injection.

Right now I have the kit out to a friend for polishing and the blower is going out for a complete rebuild with better bearings and the new 928 Motorsports V+ impeller in the next week or two.

I checked the 2.62 pulley on the bracket and sure enough it rubs against the jackshaft when its secured in place so I sent it back to GTM to have them make the shoulder/spacer longer so it doesn't rub. Hopefully I get the blower, kit and pulley back from the respective people I sent the parts to in time for the install day

I'll keep everyone posted on developments as they take place betweeen now and June 16th

440 hp with 8-10 psi.. only on the holyroller dyno

honestly, if you are only going to run 8-10 psi, run a 3.12 pulley. 0-3500 rpms is virtually the same for every pulley combo. look at some dynos. all you are doin is heating the air by running the blower that hard and it will overtax the IC and cause you to knock in the summer. the alky kit is nice add on, but totally unnecessary for the low levels of boost you are wanting to run if you'd just use the proper pulley. i bet you run full boost on your setup anyhow. i guarantee there will be no reason not to.

either way, june 16th is soo far away. you have more patience than i do!

thanks for the info!

I'm not exactly sure how much boost Giles is going to run on the kit. I told him already its a stock block and since I have the boost limiter valve he'll be able to dial in the boost to whatever number he deems "safe" for the stock block with alcohol. I plan on building a stroker motor next year for the kit so I can run more boost but rather than spending money twice I figured I'd buy all the things for the kit the first time around and dial in the boost to the desired amount until I can open it all the way up

June 16th isn't so far away so thats not whats killing me.... its the fact I was supposed to be boosted back in April thats killing me! I've had to go home and look at the kit sitting in my office/headlight lab everyday after work and all I can do is shake my head now

I was so excited to finally go FI and now the thrill feels like its gone and I just want it done cuz I've invested so much time and money into getting this far. Hopefully the first time I drive the car boosted I'll regain some of that "thrill" I lost in waiting so long

ok so I know I neglected this thread of mine for some time now....

motor was definitely not running properly and I had a couple arguements with the dealership before they finally caved in and gave me a new motor.

As I looked at the paperwork they gave me I was shocked to see they gave me an entire longblock! I got new cams, belts, gaskets the whole nine yards...

The notes on the paperwork said something about scoring on the cams and something blue in the heads or something to that effect. After running a compression test it failed miserably and they concluded the entire motor needed replacing.

Lucky for me I have a warranty on the motor for things like this so it cost me nothing.
