I know I have a strong feeling it's something retarded. I can't imagine my Emanage Ultimate just changing the tune that dramatically. And not to mention it getting worse as time goes by...It's gradually gotten worse since about April. I really think it's something small but Sam @ GTM looked it over for a while and couldn't find any codes it was throwing or anything wrong for that matter. He's saying that it's probably the EM-Ultimate but I'm not buying it unless it sucks that much that it completely erased my tune. The weird thing is it runs flawlessly every once in a while while winding out a gear. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm destined to figure this thing out soon!

I know this probably doesn't help, but I had the same issue with my Vortech. Right after I shifted up in MM mode in my 5AT, the car would studder and not go anywhere until I let off the throttle and then got on it again. It hasn't happened with the new motor, though It's not tranny related as some would think. It's exactly as you describe it. I was running the EU as well, but my tune was fine.

Did you check your plugs as suggested?

well I had the problem on the eclipse it too didn't throw out any codes at all. Don't know how hard it is to change the plugs since I haven't done it on the G yet, but if the tips are black then yeah it's fouled out. Also if it's white it could mean your running to lean. <---irrelevent but hey what ever helps right.

What we have notice on a car we are working on right now to correct the same issue and a maxima we chased the issue on for months with the EU is that the EU on fast throttle movements is not scaling the injectors correctly or fast enough . If you accelerate slowly the problem is not there .

This this sound like your problem ??

It has only been recent in the new firmwares .

Don't take this for fact as this is what our tuner explained to me and how I interpreted it . Would be nice to verify though . I believe he has been tuning differently using the MAF for correction

eu has just as much capabilities to tune as good as the utec if not better. more tuners know how to tune utec though, its alot easier.

u can do more with the ultimate.

what is your boost gauge doing when this happens? are you seeing the needle jump up and down?

what about CEL codes? any? which ones?

my though is you have a problem with your throttle body. there is a warranty fix if it is the throttle body.

It's not throwing any codes at all. My tips are always black and my car does spit out a small amount of black smoke when I get on it all the time. I suppose it could be the EU but it doesn't explain why it ran flawlessly for the first few months I had it tuned. Nothing ever went wrong, it ran strong and it was perfect. Now all of a sudden it's getting worse so I'm still a firm believer that it's not the EU just 'changing' the tune over time. Sam suggested that it could be the EU and I would normally take his word but it doesn't make sense for things to get worse and worse. Even in cold weather it does the same thing so I know it's not just the summer heat. I haven't changed the plugs since I first got the car TT'd.
I hope it could be the plugs but who knows what it could be?

I have a boost gauge/turber timer by blitz so most the time I'm not looking at it. The times that I did view it, it seems to be stable though.

try to look at the boost/vacuum gauge when this problem happens. if you see that needle bouncing up and down radically, it is most likely a throttle problem.

I can deff. feel the car not being as 'smooth' when I get on it but it's always done it even when it was running perfect. I know the feeling your talking about but it's much more serious than that. Even on the mildest accerations my car will do it once it starts hitting boost. My car doesn't hesitate for a slight second...it hesitates for over a second as if VDC kicked in and cut power to my engine completely and it won't accelerate.

Update: Car still runs like ****. Vacuum/boost looks fairly stable. I noticed it's really obvious in 5th gear on the fwy when it's under a load. It happened a few times yesterday and while I was accelerating in 5th, I looked over and my wideband read a solid 10.0 from about 3-5k rpms. I tried it several times afterwards and had different readings. The next try, it was about 10.7-11 and it seemed fine.
I also took it to Sam on thursday to see if he knew what was up. I took him for a short spin and it did do it but not to the degree it does it on the freeway. He again mentioned that it's more than likely the EU not being suffecient enough for the amount of boost I'm running.

Again, I don't understand how the car could run perfect and then gradually run worse. It turned from a slight hiccup every once ina while to hiccups all the time. I know the VPRO is superior to the EU and I would love to have it in my car but I don't see how someone can install something and realize it runs perfect......then months and months later tell me that it's the EU all of a sudden. I'm very confused and frustrated at this point.

For the people that already replied, could you guys elaborate more on what your car was doing, symptoms, and fixes.

-Anthony
