Twin intercoolers w/ Vortech & OEM bumper

Has anyone done this? I'm starting to research the dimensions and sizes needed to fill up the OEM bumper openings. Do you all think I could just copy the specs of the JWT twin intercooler?

in theory it seems like it will work but won't you loose boost with the air going thru 2 intercoolers, b/c on the JWT each turbo pushes to a seperate intercooler which goes into the intake manifold. so i guess my question is what would be the purpose to run that type of setup....im sure it will look good though!!!

One of the main reasons is because I like my current aero setup. Gialla front lip on OEM bumper. Too many FI'd cars w/ GReddy, Kuruma, and Top Secret fronts. It'd be a custom job too, so I'd get more points @ the shows.

i thought about it too with my nismo front but you have to get custom piping and it seems like it would cost a grip. i never even thought about performance though...wonder if there is a downside

You will loose boost pressure. Venom is right on the JWT each turbo charges the intercoolers which then go to a Y-pipe and to the intake.... It might look good and get you the points but if performance wise you will suffer.

Here's some pics for you to use to try and help make your decision...

Example of my current JWT twin IC setup(except I have the Data lip):

Pics of my previous Vortech setup(custom intercooler) with my TS Front Bumper:

That would look HOT. Your performance would suffer a little, but if you were to use two smaller ICs wouldn't it be the same as one larger one? Oh and your right to many fi'd cars with the greddy front....

I think your hp will be hurt more than you think with twin ICer's and a Vortech SCer . For one thing each IC will be shorter which reduces flow [ hieght and width controls flow ] Then your reducing it down to a 2.5 or 2.75 pipe to stansfer to the next IC and doing it again to go to the throttle body .

I think you would lose less going to a bigger than stock IC and just running it behind the stock bumper

You don't need two intercoolers for a SC.. you're just killing your pressure

just get an ARC intercooler and a greddy/kumaz etc bumper

I'll speak more in depth about it w/ Bell Intercoolers to see what they say about pressure drops, since they will be designing the new setup. I just ordered the 3.12 pulley anyways.

Let me know what you find out. I'm interested in doing the same thing. (don't worry, WA is FAR FAR away from TX!)

I think I'll end up making a deflection shroud that'll fit inside one (or both) of the stock fascia's vents to deflect air into the intercooler.

Good luck with whatever you do.
