Fuel Leak @ sending unit

I have a G35 w/ the AAM FR. Last night as im driving home I start to smell gas and then notice that my fuel gauge is droping fast. I get home pull the seat and it leak from the sending unit. My question is that im not sure if it was just the o-ring or if it the fuel return fitting. I took the SU out and as soon as I touched the O-ring it expanded bigger. And had two little pieces of film on it from the grey hose that runs down the SU. Thinking thats the cause of the fuel leak, but would that leak it even through the inspection plate?

Already replaced the oring but not sure if I should take apart the nozzle and add some sealant to the washer or just put it on top and around the washer and fitting.

Help me please.....
