KurumaZ Bumper and FMIC

To my FI peeps:

My car will be going in next week to get Kuruma bumper with mesh and Impul sides. I just wanted to know should I install the mesh or let the intercooler show. I'm a little worried about damaging the IC, but they do look good exposed. Have any of you experienced any issues with running aftermarket bumpers, FMICs and no mesh?

^^^I agree. I am getting the Top Secret bumper with mesh to protect the FMIC. IC's aren't cheap.

I got Mesh on my karumaz.

It hides my FMIC for that sleeper look.

But it does not deter any functionality of the FMIC since air is going through just fine.

Look up my car under picture share and you should see it

you could always use a diff type of mesh....not sure what type of weave, thickness comes with Karuma off the top of my head

no mesh and i live in the badlands with lots of road debris. 2 years with APS TT and not one single problem to the IC core. a few of the fins are bent, but nothing drastic. i would never want to reduce airflow to my IC because it's hot over here already.

i also have kuruma bumper and i am contemplating on customizing it to heighten the front mouth and lowering the IC just a tad bit.

Thanks for the input, guys. I think I'll keep the mesh based on Glex25's pics. Looking at your pics is making me want to get an oil cooler now

I don't really like the look of metal mesh, but I guess it serves its purpose...

My setup without mesh...

I think that there are certain front end setups that look better with mesh and/or require mesh to protect their expensive intercoolers.

In my case I feel that not using mesh over the JWT IC's makes my setup a lot more aggresive and at the same time doesn't attract to much attention from the local law enforcement.
