Vortech SC owners:What HFC's are you running??

As many of you know, I went with the Vortech SC and my goal was to hit 400whp safely on a conservative tune. Well I was able to get to 384.1whp on 91 octane and a conservative tune. Sam and George @ GTM advised me that my stock cats were the main reason I didn't hit 400whp because I definitely have the components/setup to hit 400whp easily. The stock cats are too restricting. What HFC's are you guys running and why?? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Hey Hex, i'm not running HFC, but I've done a **** load of research on them for a long time.

I'd definately go with Fast Intentions 300 Metallic HFC.

Crawfords seem pretty good too, but I just love that FI service; can't get that anywhere else.

I should be getting them next month. I have only heard great things about FI and their products.

I'm not a Vortech owner though

.

+1 for FI (metallic 2.5" HFC) and for FI customer service (call Tony and just get his advice). You have to decide if the extra cost for the FastIntentions product is worth it or not.

ISMSolutions (Rick) has a vortech and these cats - he may have a dyno posted around here - or you could PM him.

We'll see how well they do w/ twin turbos - I'll be mad if I can't break 500 whp because of them!

With any hfcs, I'm sure you'll easily break into the 400s...

RT cat have been known to fail [ collapse ] but flow better than any other cats , they are real close to test pipes . If you looking to make power . Go with test pipes

all cats will get the job done and will make about the same hp/tq. So at this pt it's more about if u want to buy bling bling (crawford and FI) or more affordable ones like kinetix. U have to remember too that u have a sc so u want some back pressure so if u get bigger cats u lose boost pressure.

Maybe I'm bias but I prefer the kinetix bc of 2 reasons : 1) no cell without non foulers (FI will need them) 2) cost

Running no cats .... you will lose very little trq down low . You will run less boost up top , but make better whp on less boost compared to running cats .

all cats are not the same....like I said , RT's out flow any other cat . When you lose the rasp an open exhaust makes , the cats are starting to get restrictive . More boost with restrictive cats does not mean more power
