Sponsor for FI

It seems there is a lot of people with nice FI setups. Anyone have a sponsor to help off-set the FI price tag? If so, what did you do to get sponsored? Thanks guys!

Question is why would they sponsor you? Show some time slip, unless you're are really one helluva driver then why would they give you discounted parts/labor?

Show the vehicle...advertise for the aftermarket company is the primary reason. They want a return on investment (ROI). Wouldn't necessarily need to race the car to get sponsored.

you need to go to a lot of shows or be on a team to get sponsored well.

And usually cars that get sponsored are pretty heavily modded. You can't just have a z tube/k&n and clear corners and hope to get sponsored. Sponors want cars that stand out and people will remember. Just look at some of the sponsored guys on this forum and you will see what you have to do to get sponsored.

True but you are in the FI forum so show is just secondary here. Shop usually sponsor FI'ed cars to represent their shop and the kit, if you just want for show then go straight the Manufacturer and tell them you like to go to show and compete but you need to prove that your car is a SHOWROOM material and not just putting clear corners

I focused on the stereo first...modding can be sooo addictive

Now I want the engine to keep up with the stereo!

^^ what he said.
Also be prepare to make a proposal with plans for the future including the show schedule, past exposure in the media and awards won including the pics.
Anything that can prove that you will be making benefits for the company.
And Def, being in the reputable team helps. Most teams have their sponsor so if you can join them, you will get some breaks.

Good luck with your project man, but finding a sponsor is not easy.

My last car was sponsored but it is not as easy as you think, I mean all the shows you have to go to and not being able to drive your car on a daily basis due to rock chips and all the other things that can happen. I stopped doing it after 16 months as I wanted to enjoy the car way more than I was.

Getting sponsored for FI from a manufacturer is pretty much impossible especially at this stage of the G/Z game. If you had a show winning G back in like 2003, when the first FI companies started popping up you would have had a better chance. Back when Grubbs got the first G Procharged was cool...I still have pictures of its unveiling somewhere when we Grubbs sponsored our meets.

My sponsors in my sig...gotta love em!

Yeah, getting sponsored is not easy at all. I know someone that got sponsored and he spent hours writing people. Calling people. He had a whole package that he would send out to possible sponsors showing what was done to the car and the awards that he had won, etc. It's almost a fulltime job.
